The hope kid at 106 was never mentioned on the "rankings" and won the state title. I wonder if that's happened before.

Congrats to everyone for a great tournament - just wanted to shout out a couple guys..
What a run for Eneas Castillo… pulled off last second wins in Quarters and Semis to punch a ticket to finals, two of the best matches of the tournament, think he surprised a lot of people.
Mazariego - was in a 3-2 battle with Leishner in consi-finals and suffered what appeared to be a calf (maybe knee) injury - literally could not stand up but kept getting on the line anyways. Dude is tough - trainer medical DQ’d him but if it was up to him he would’ve finished the match - not sure exactly what happened but hopefully he can come back healthy next season.
Perez & Baccala - what a war - really hope they can run that one back at NEs.
Also… 120 weight class in general… one of the most stacked brackets I remember… 4+ guys who are/were very capable of placing next week.. It’s a shame we can only send three of them to NE’s.
Have a feeling that New Englands will be by far RI’s best showing in recent history

But there were plenty of kids who weren’t ranked and still wrestled their asses off and placed, for sure. I only summarize results haha.

Great tournament overall , the finals were a lacking but the rest of the tournament was upset after upset. There’s nothing I love more than when a hungry wrestler and an opportunity collide, great things tend to happen. Should expect to see a great showing at the New England tournament from RI let’s come back with some championship plaques!!

Look like 11 of the 14 champions were predicted accurately. That's pretty impressive!

Vital winning 9-4 seemed to take mian down at will . the rivalry continues
