Jack Gianneto So Narragansett pinned Dylan Martin's for 3rd at the Westerly Tournament. He also went to the finals at the Griswold CT tournament this past weekend.

There was a lot of good matches at the Griswold invitational with five Rhode Island teams there. Had there been better refs, thier would have been a few upsets as well. A lot of good action this last weekend though.
Tollgate and Narragansett will definitely be teams to look out for during sectionals this year.

Food for thought:
138... Sad to hear Monteiro's injury not sure how severe but he was not wrestling at the Cumberland Tourney... if he returns is he of full capabilities may leave it wide open for 2 Joyce state champs this season unsure if Joyce has any in state losses?
145... Vital of Hendy beat Thibodeau of Mt Hope at 145, while at 152 Reid of Hendy beat Furtado... I think Vital makes a quiet run to the finals if he is opposite Gabe.
182... Titre of Cumberland recently pinned Amaral of EP in the finals of the Cumberland Tourney but Amaral won 5-1 in the league Dual. Garcia of Lasalle knocked off recently ranked Hosey of NP via pin.
195/220 Saga... Maraia beat Tavares 10-6 in their dual at 195, Tavares bumped up and Majored DiOrio 8-0 at that dual meet but was back down at 195 for Cumberland, Raposo or Tavares both have been heard mentioning bumping up and going 220 for states... or stay and face Maraia... both weight classes are completely anyones game... Powerpoints and state seeding could make a difference who has to face who in semis and that may make a difference where guys decide to go.

138 edmir is most likely gonna come back don’t think it’s that bad definitely would love to see a actual match between Joyce and edmir. 145 though your forgetting Aziz and Colby again one of the big rivalries at 145. Don’t know what will happen but just wanted to put it out

From the results I saw on track, looks like Eneas Castillo of Cranston East is wrestling 138 this season. He probably should get ranked there

Hope beat both nk and Coventry tonight just wanted to comment on the 32 and 38 matches for starters edmir dominated Armstrong winning 8-1 and Montanez bringing it to swaim seemed to take him down out will but fell short losing the match 6-10 definitely want to see the two wrestle again

Last night was a great night to be a RI Wrestling fan especially in the Providence area. We got to see Lincoln vs Central in a Div 2 HWT bout then went down the street and watched Hope take on Coventry and NK. The season is getting better and better every week. Thanks to all the wrestlers, coaches and parents who make it so fun to follow and watch.

St Johns Prep went to wrestle Lincoln Lasalle and central this season. Toll Gate beat central 42- 39 Central won By for 3x at 145, 182, 220 Toll Gate won By fro 2x at 106, 195 Looks like the dual hinged on a rematch at 285. Acosta (Cen) was up 7-0 before pinning Volmar(TG) at 3:05 in the semis at South County But Volmar picked up Pin in dual at 1:01 to take the match for TG |

Eneas Castillo wrestled 138 last night again. The kid looked very big for the weight class, and unstoppable on his feet, along with some good scrambling skills. I never seen him wrestle before, but he was very tough.

After looking up recent Div 2 standings, looks lie there will be a 3 Way Tie for the Div Title. I've asked a few people, what the tie breaker would be and they all said RIIL doesnt have a tie breaker and all 3 would be crown Div Champs. It's a legit 3 Way Tie as Toll Gate beat Central, Central beat Lincoln and Lincoln beat Toll Gate. All 3 should finish at 9 - 1 in league matches.
Sectionals will def be a fun event to watch.
