DISCUSSION: Teves v. Jerez Who's coming out on top?

Any thoughts on kids who might bump away of a stacked weight class last minute to have a better chance at states?? Weight classes like 32 and 38 look stacked, why not go up a weight class to have a better shot? 32 you possibly have bloom, zueller, Stamas, lynch, celico. 38 you got Soto, rivet, McGill, brodeur. 45 - mccarron, Jerez, Teves, monteiro, Swanson. I'm willing to bet we see at least one major bump that blows everyone's mind. Can't just do that. You have to have 50% of your weigh ins during the season to wrestle in that weight class. Between 32 and 38 Zuller is the only one that might have 50% at each weight. Sort of correct, while weighing in at a lower weight class your qualified for the next class up. So if you weighed in at 138 14 times, youve also qualified yourself for 145 weight class. The rule states 50% of your weigh ins must be at the stated weight. In essence your qualified for 2 weight classes through the weigh in.

You can bump up and wrestle from the weight class you weighed in at. If you weigh in between 138.1 and 145 that counts as 145. You can bump to 152 but you get less power points than if you wrestled 145 if you win. It does not count as a weigh in for 152. Your weigh ins count for only one weight class.

Cradleman1, great job with the rankings.
the only ranking I would change is @ 138. I would have Gosselin, Burr as the HM instead of Hellman, Barr. Gosselin has beaten Hellman twice this year.

Exactly, the same night Brodeur pinned Rivet he smashed heads with Soto. Does Brodeur's loss to Tougas have any effect on this? That is a bit of a quagmire because Rivet beat Tugas. McGuill did not wrestle Tugas makes it even more complicated. Did any of these results differ at any tournaments in State? [br Cole won states last year, those extra power points will be huge on his seeding

[br Cole won states last year, those extra power points will be huge on his seeding Yes he does have the benefit of those points but doesn't head to head supersede power points? How many losses does he have to others in his bracket? Cole is a great kid, and stand up competitor by the way.

Gomez will definitely be a bracket buster & be on the podium. McCarron has beat Schafer & will beat Monteiro. Fenwick is out. Pelletier will be lucky if he even places & finals 120 Hussy vs Wheeler. OW will be a tough one, I could see it going to 132,138 or 145. All pretty stacked brackets. McGill is a tournament wrestler. I'd like to see Soto vs Mcgill finals. This weekend will be interesting with a lot of upsets.
