If you want to bash some one that is using his real name to comment why don't you sign in with your real name and do it rather than taking cheap shots. This is a wrestling forum to express your opinion, valid or not.

In no other state could you wrestle 8-10 matches and be handed top seeds. Their kids are soooo far above the rest of the state and it's just a privilege to get to see them on the same mat with our kids.

Too much talk coming from people who just want too see their kids name in the forum. State your thoughts, but don't forget to say why! Remember in highschool the teacher always wanted you to show your work to get full credit... P4P 1. Sauro - He won states last year with bruised ribs and would've competed for a NewEngland medal if it wasn't for his injury. 2. Soto - after missing all season last year to a concussion and being forced to bump up to 138 finished 3rd in states and 2-2 in NewEngland. Only loses came to A. Howard. Lemieux a New England champ and last years NH champ who beat Lemieux in the state finals. 3. Stamos - A returning state champ has looked dominant all year! I expect a strong showing from him at NewEnglands. 4. Bloom - Returning NewEngland champ! The only reason Bloom is so low is because of the weight class jump. Love his style love his technique I just don't know if he can keep up with the 132 strength. 5. Lundston - let's just say I expect a big upset at states. I know Francis has the accolades, but he doesn't impress me enough to put him over the sophomore underdog. From what I've heard Lundston didn't certify at 160. Bloom lost to Kyle Fields, a Freshman from Danbury, who is 23-8 this year. If you're going by this season's performance you have to put Jon Celico on this list. He hasn't lost in state. He's beaten the #2, #3, #4 kids from Mass and lost in OT to NH #1. Kid is on fire.

I don't know why you are atracking mike so hard he never stated he was a state champ or anything he is just stating his opinion which in most cases I agree with I believe other people do too so unless you're an Olympic champ or something stop attacking his accomplishments

He hasnt wrestled 160 the whole year i expect to see him at 182 at states which will be a good finals match between him and sauro. They are both powerful and technical wrestlers. Also francis should be on the list for p4p IMO

In my opinion A P4P list is a here and now list, not based on past accomplishments but rather how a wrestler is preforming this season, if you don't have the current stats you don't belong on the list, not to say you are not a good wrestler or have not had impressive prior seasons. If you want to do an all time greats list fine but P4P to me is based on what is happening now.

If you don't think RI wrestling is already a joke to the sport, you need to get outside new england man. We have what, 2 or 3 returning NE place finishers? RI has had probably about 5-6 NE champs in the past 6 years, Bloom being one of them. How can you take that away from him after losing one match? The fact you're bagging on a 16 year old kid who does well in the sport (in my mind, the best p4p wrestler in the state) while being educated in the best school in the state is dastardly. Don't be jealous over a kid who earned all his accolades and will most likely be more successful than you one day. Rant over.

Look it's nothing personal and there is no jealousy involved. I hope RI sweeps NE's. In my opinion, there is no way our(RI) P4P best is losing to a freshman from CT who has already lost 8 matches this year. The Fields kid is a good wrestler but he shouldn't beat our best. If our best is losing to a Freshman from CT who may not even place at Opens then we really, really have a problem. Stop downgrading RI wrestling with your mouth. We are set to have a huge year at NE's this year so just sit back and enjoy. Why doesn't Moses Brown go wrestle Pomfret, Tabor, Belmont, etc? Go be a real "prep" school because your kids are just too damn good for RI wrestling.

Why didn't OConnor wrestle against Skawinski tonight? I'm told he is out for the season.

In reference to the post about Hendricken(which was removed), the insulting comment about RI wrestling being a joke, people calling people tools/losers and telling them to shut up is unnecessary chatter. The forum is not a place for insults, name calling or opinions. An opinion is a judgement that is not necessarily based on facts or knowledge, it is attitudinal. The chat should be respectful and based on predictions and claims both of which are SUPPORTED by evidence from the wrestler's (recent) past and present performances. Let’s keep the chatter going, but clean it up a bit, so we can maintain a level of respect for the wrestlers and the wrestling community!

Does anyone have the newest rankings? And if you had to pick an underdog in any weight class who would it be and why?

Oh as if your sarcasm about how "privileged" you feel to be in a MB student-athletes presence wasn't a personal attack. However, I have to agree that a p4p top wrestler should not be losing to a decent freshman wrestler, did you ever think the kid just had a bad day? Give the kid a break. To your point about RI having a big showing @ NE's this year, I hope you're right Mike, it should be an entertaining couple of weeks. Also, MB looks to have no more than 7 wrestlers competing, doesn't make much sense to me to have their small team drive hours across state, for a cumulative meet time of about 15 minutes. That's all I have to say about that, good luck to everyone as tournament season nears.

Let's refocus the banter... Any clear cut state winners in a weight class? Conversely, any predictions of upsets?

I know we have to focus, but I have to say this one last thing in honor of all our RI wrestlers! Why make such a nasty remark about RI wrestling being joke. RI wrestlers have to work extra hard to find the competition in order to compete at the next level and many of them do just that! It is basically a numbers game. We are a small state with amazing talent throughout all of our high schools(public and private), but don’t have the wrestling opportunities of the larger states. Wrestlers in other NE states have more talent because there are MORE wrestlers and are close to states like NY, NJ and PA for easy access to year around training which is extremely competitive. I mean all you have to do is look at a map to see the advantages of those other states. There are many talented RI wrestlers that have worked very hard on and off season to stay competitive. They do their best to travel, if time and money allows them to do so. Let’s respect all the wrestlers in RI, to spite the challenges they face coming from such a small state, they have the courage to get out on that mat time after time always giving it their best shot! The time, energy and effort put into the sport by the wrestlers in this state is certainly NOT a joke! Now let’s focus…any news on when the brackets will be posted?
