Both Fry and Gillis weighed in for 106lbs. Gillis was bumped for Team matchup and it worked because the meet started out 6 to 6.

Marchione put up big against sangare he won 11-3 so I know that there is a lot of weights and wrestlers but Marchione needs to be considered at the 195, also I respect Riggs as a wrestler and in his weight class he is a monster but p4p I not sure any of the upper weights can really contend with the technical knowledge and speed. Riggs competing well at New Englands should put him on the list. He loss 2-0 to the 195 New England Champ in the quarterfinals

NK Zarella should definitely be ranked at 120, Crocker 220

Both Fry and Gillis weighed in for 106lbs. Gillis was bumped for Team matchup and it worked because the meet started out 6 to 6. Is this because the coaches think it’s better for the team or is it because of personal reasons! Thoughts?

Stephenson (CW) is at 126 this year and Gomez (CW) is trying to get down to 126 to wrestle off Stephenson for that spot in the lineup. It’s weird how Gomez wrestled at the 132 weight class at the first tournament and lost in the finals but now wants to cut down to 126 to wrestle off Stephenson for his spot.

Pono & Cov strong showing at the Frank Chaves Invitational. Riggs is solid, pinned through. Joyce 120 won it. Caltagirone beat Villanova. Fry wrestled in Finals lost 3-2. Clarke won. More results on Flo.

Fry isn't even going 106 this year. He went 113 last tournament and lost in a rematch to the MA All-State Champion and New England Champion. With that said though, the score was close enough that Fry can turn that loss to a win.

Agreed,
Why wouldn't Gomez go 126, thats his best chance of of winning a title! As a coach you want your kids to go where it is most optimal for them!
No one is entitled to a spot, it must be earned!

Every Kid has the right to wrestle off for any weight they want that’s the way it always has been and always will be but if you already sucked to get to 132 don’t kill yourselve and suck to 126 And it is more optimal for him at 132 for himself and for the team

Cumberland’s great and all but I wouldn’t put them top three when it comes to number of state champs. Coventry. Pono, chariho

Wasn't going to do rankings this year but I haven't seen any serious rankings so far. Here is what I have. Its a little rough (some weight classes aren't fully built out yet) but it is the best I could do with that amount of wrestling we've had so far without having to make guesses to fill out the bottom of certain weights. The base for these rankings was state places last year. Then I took out seniors, and moved kids to appropriate weights according to where they appear to be wrestling this year. Then head to head match ups moved a couple people around, but there hasn't been too much action yet. A few wrestlers who didn't place last year were added to the bottom of some weight class rankings for consistently winning tournaments and duels. Things of note: 120: Fallon (BH) over Joyce (Pon) based on being a New England Placer (didn't wrestle last year due to injury). 285: Phelps (Char) over returning state champ Hancock (Cumb) by Fall. Previously have never heard of Phelps (didn't place this year) and was unsure about moving him ahead of a returning state champ for one victory. However I didn't really have any justification not to so he is tentatively the #2 at 285. If Phelps starts dropping matches most likely Phelps will be moved down rather than wrestlers jumping both Phelps and Hancock. If I missed any head to heads or have wrestlers at the wrong weight please let me know as always. Your feedback is more helpful than you think. Finally, if you have any suggestions on how to fill out the bottoms of some of these weight classes please share (with justifications for each wrestler). Thanks. Here you go: P4P: 1) Fry 2) Fallon 3) Riggs 4) Clarke 5) Caltagirone 106 1) Gillis (Cumb) 2) Felix (CF) 3) Gomes (MH) 4) Lowman (Pon) 5) Schartner (NK) 113 1) Fry (Cov) 2) Cook (Pono) 3) Stephenson (CW) 120 1) Fallon (BH) 2) Joyce (Pon) 3) Gomez (CW) 4) Dutcher (Woon) 5) Lynch (Linc) 126 1) Williams (BH) 2) Reilly (Cumb) 3) Remolina (Cov) 4) Rizzo (NP) 132 1) Clarke (Cov) 2) Passanante (Cumb) 3) Iaccabucci (BH) 138 1) Merritt (Char) 2) Reynolds (Sci) 3) Bennett (MH) 4) Pacheco (WW) 145 1) Caltigirone (Cov) 2) Fine (BH) 3) Faria (Cumb) 4) Lombardo (Smi) 152 1) Villanova (Pono) 2) Bonanno (Char) 3) Reid (BH) 160 1) Dougherty (Char) 2) Gosselin (Burr) 3) Brown (NK) 4) Onajide (Hope) 170 1) Dougherty (Char) 2) Macomber (Pono) 3) Breit (LSA) 4) Soares (Pil) 182 1) Grifka (MH) 2) Gregorian (LSA) 3) Swanson (BH) 4) Anderson (Char) 5) Brzoza (SK) 6) Symmes (NP) 195 1) Riggs (Pon) 2) Sangare (Cumb) 3) Page (JS) 4) Feliz (Hope) 220 1) Circa (Pon) 2) Bailey (BH) 3) Shaw (Char) 4) Coppolino (Cumb) 5) Salazar (WW) 6) Butera (LSA) 285 1) Guarcas (Hope) 2) Hancock (Cumb) 3) Bentancur (BH) 4) Phelps (Char)
