I think Henneset & Myers do a great job. And no state title is given to them they earn it. But you can't deny the last few years they've got a great line up. And no question BH can offer a better education than most public schools. Sure a few kids get recognized and go off to a great college. But don't be fooled, of the few that go off to great schools how many parents think there kids belong in the NFL and send there kid to BH hoping for D1 scholarships and find out there kids are better soccer players. Some never see the field. So many people I know send there kids there and get stuck on the bench until there senior year and play kick off and punt team. What's better for the average kid, being a strarter for 4 years on 3 sports, or paying 12K a year and sitting the bench. Don't get me wrong it is great if your great. But you got to weigh your options. If a kid is good enough and is possibly D1 material then no doubt about private schools is a good start. School shouldn't be all about sports. But it is a big part of it. My town has 4 starters 2 first team all state baseball players playing for private schools. Do they belong at a private school, yes of course they do. Do I wish they played for there local high school . Yes of course I do.

Well according to Wrestlingfan138" hendricken should not be wrestling in Ri, which would also eliminate Lasalle, MB and lets not forget Cranston West as their tech program can draw from other towns also, so where does that leave RI " the smallest state in the union" Oh yeah it leaves our kids with an even smaller number of Athletes to compete with, sounds like a solid plan, NOT!

I find it sad some parents think that their son is getting a better education by going to a private school. History proves that's it's not the school but more of the student. Countless students from public schools Students high achieving university's year after year. The point I'm trying to make about wrestling though is that they play by different rules. That's the bottom line, and if anyone can disprove that, then I'd like it brought to my attention.

Francis beat people's again. And he beat Stewart from hendi. I think it's time to give this kid a little more credit. What was the score? The results aren't on RIIL or ProJo...

Not sure what different rules the "student-athlete" plays by, They take a bus to school, go to classes, go to wrestling practice,/meets do home work is this different in the public schools?

Roughly 43,000 high school students in the state. Divide that in half to account for only boys and you get 21,500 male students, all of which have the ability to attend a private school like Hendricken. The biggest public school in RI has a population of 1,500. Divide that by two And that leaves you with only 750 boys to develop into great wrestlers/athletes. Like I said, it's an uneven playing field where public schools will never be able shine. Now, as to your argument about private schools making Competition better. You are correct, however, with the state of RI being so small you will never get a school population big enough to compete with private schools. Ex: put Hendricken in the state of California where high schools have population levels of 3,000 plus, you now have the ability to make your team big enough/ good enough to compete with a private school. You WILL NEVER get numbers like that in RI. Ever.

Most of the wrestlers doing well are kids that are training year round in clubs, private lessons and are growing on the off season the kids are not expecting to grow exponentially during the school season but rather in the off season and their best shot of getting noticed by a D1 school, if that is part of the goal is to wrestle in the off season tournaments that many college coaches attend (Super 32, Fargo Virginia High School Nationals etc...) Lets face it if your kid drills every day with a kid that has no expectations, goals, work ethic or will to get better well they will have a tough time growing. So you either bring those people to him or take him somewhere else.

And just because those kids have the ability doesn't mean hendricken has a choice to pick and choose what athletes they want. It's the athletes choice to go to the school to become better. Also last I check Hendricken doesn't win every year.

So if Bivona beat Francis does that make him #1 in two weight classes?

Hendricken isnt going anywhere so let's just put that discussion to rest. But, take a look at the rankings and there are different scenarios where they could lose at states.
