Good luck to everyone tonight and tomorrow. Whether you're the 1 or 16 seed I wish you nothing but the best. I know we'll see some great wrestling tonight and tomorrow I'm looking forward to it. See you all in Providence

Just wanted to give a good luck to everybody competing the next two days. Also, huge congratulations to all of the girls competing in the first ever Rhode Island Girls State Championship. History made! It is impressive there is such talent just one year in that in three weight classes, all of the girls bumped away. Those three girls are already state champions! To be so feared, wow. I am excited to see the race to who will become the first ever 4x girls state champion. Hopefully somebody will challenge one of those three at some point. Again, good luck EVERYONE!

Well pono has already clinched at this point but a couple big moments from today. Dacosta over leischner was honestly unexpected Wilcox with a very close over barrington, him and diorio should be good tomorrow Schartner majors aziz Pono looked a little sloppy with Robbie and Bellini but both came away with wins Pappas and thibedeau looks actually very interesting Overall good day of wrestling and honestly there’s 1 semi match in each weight that looks really good

I just heard that cashman downes had to injury default out of the tournament after his qtr final match with Ethan Martel. On behalf of my son Ethan myself and the entire Mt Hope family we want to wish cash a speedy recovery and hope he's ok. We don't know if he or his family is in here but we wish you nothing but the best.
Good luck to everyone today.

As I stated, thibedeau is the worst one seed and exactly why he should’ve been the 2

Congratulations to all Rhode Island wrestlers, extremely good second day and finals overall. Pono with 8 state champs and 10 finalists is ridiculous but what can we do?
Bouyssou and Peyton both win title #4, McCarthy and vital with easily match of the night, and how about the upset of the century at 190? WOW What’s the New England predictions looking like

Congratulations to 4x time Chanps Gabe Boysseau and Peyton Ellis however I thought in years past the state tournament halted and 4 timers were inducted into the RI wrestling hall of fame right there..maybe I'm wrong and it's just the New England Hall.. tremendous careers by both regardless

Great tournament overall but can we talk about how bad the officiating in this state is? We maybe have 3 solid officials the rest are terrible

So we go from bashing Pono to bashing the officials. What’s next?

So we go from bashing Pono to bashing the officials. What’s next? Like I said we bash pono the team not the individuals. If something is wrong and they get screwed over in some way, it would still be messed up if someone from the other school got screwed over. We obviously hope some school eventually dethrones them(although unlikely since the rumor is they have 3 more out of state kids coming next year). Specific matches I can think of were the questionable stall calls in the 165 semis match, herrara having the nk kid pinned for about 10 seconds and no call, and also no stall call during the UTB of the Davis vs farnsworth match. Pono had some favoritism go their way as well with Bellini just laying on top of Hughes the whole 3rd period and no calls until the last 30 seconds and hood taking one shot the whole finals match with no stall calls called(granted he did end up throwing Davis so this doesn’t make that much of a difference) the thing too is it didn’t matter anyway since pono could’ve defaulted out day 1 and still have won. 300 points is ridiculous

In the rule state top man job is post to stay on top in control for 30 seconds... Cam did his job

Absolutely correct. In UTB, the object is to ride not to score.
Great job Div 2 wrestlers, 4x teams in the top 10 and 2x teams in the top 5. I counted over 30 medals for Div 2.
Overall, great state tourney. Love see wrestlers place who wasn't "ranked"

Cam did his job I didn’t say his job was to score, but they were standing for atleast 10 seconds and cam didn’t do anything but hold on. If that’s the case then Joziah fry shouldn’t have got hit for stalling against hunter Adrian years ago. Silly goose

Definitely was not in Kansas anymore after that match.

As I stated, thibedeau is the worst one seed and exactly why he should’ve been the 2 Hey bud doesn’t matter anymore anyways after yesterday the only thing that matters is being a productive member of society. I hope your kid is!. Welcome to the real world where nothing matters after high school except for creating a great life for yourself. Grow up and find a more productive way to spend your adult life rather than running your mouth about 17 yr olds! Grow up

[br Yes if your actually hurtin or in bad position and you feel like need to tap yes, also shouldnt of been a point since he wasnt in criteria or even giving up any back points, there wasnt even any swipes counted to say he was on his back,
