Stamas was weighed in and ready to wrestle for keeps not to feel his opponent out or see where he was at with out it counting. If an opponent wanted to wrestle him he should have weighed in and done it. Stamas is not the wrestler in question in that scenario. Lets see what happens with Lynch this week, then move on to states where all the DII drama will be settled. Blah blah blah. When good competition wants to wrestle you, you wrestle them. If stamas don't win NE'S this year, it will be because of his additude. When you wrestle the best you, become the best. Screw doing it for power points, team points or even his ranking in his class. They're not wrestling the same weight. He should have done it. That's why RI competition is weak. The good guys here are always looking for a way out to duck tough competition. He should have wrestled him! I agree 100% Bloom should have weighed in and wrestled him. Bloom is going 32 and he outrite ducked him in a sanctioned match don't need ESP to figure that one out.

Do we know what how many matches Bloom has weighed in at 126? Maybe due to the 50% rule and possibly having trouble making 126 he hasn't weighed in for those reason. If I had to guess I'd say he didn't make 126 and if weighed in at 132 would put him over the 50% rule and that's why said would do exhibition. Stamas may have refused seeing as if Bloom is going 126 why chance getting reinjured, Now this is all speculation on my part but I can't see Bloom "ducking" anyone. Champions don't run. As a coach would you want your wrestler having an easier road to the finals or a tougher road? "Ducking" has been going on for years in D1 and D2. This does take away from sanctity of there bracket with the "true" seeds not being where they should be. A coach will always look out for the best interest of his wrestler, but sometime that interest is only on a state level and not an NE level I agree with you wiseowl.... stamas should have wrestled bloom to prepare for the NE'S instead of going home with out wrestling a tough match. Bloom wouldn't duck anyone. That's not how ture champions work. If stamas was so much better he would have shown it. Now we'll never know, and I'll always think stamas was afraid. Im not saying Stamos should have or shouldn't have. I don't know his current state of health. Obviously Stamos wrestling Bloom doesn't hurt him with rankings or anything. So my guess is he's still not 100% and his coach chose to not have him take a chance with States and NE's coming up. Neither wrestler runs, both great wrestlers representing RI. If in 2 different weight classes that's great for RI at NE's. We are at a point n the season where we are becoming team RI. So lets support all ethical decisions and watch the champions rise to the top.

Has no affect on how Stamas will do at New Englands.

A few points to make. A) to say bloom didn't want to wrestle him is ridiculous, he did ask for a match, is it in the form Some of you wish, no, but he did not "duck" him, he asked to wrestle B) bloom could very well have weighed in a bunch of times at 126 but bumped up, not to mention 4 or 5 of his matches at 126 came at a "super dual" on one day C) all you guys that talk crap about high schoolers and nitpick there every move need to get a life, stop trying to live through your former team, and be angry that unlike bloom or any other wrestler you weren't a New England champ, state champ or probably even finalist. It's pathetic. Get a life

Bloom ducked Lynch too by the way
Just to repeat he has wrestled no one who would be considered a threat to even place at NE's. He lost to Kyle Fields of Danbury 4-2 at 120. He never bumped up to face a more difficult opponent.
He knows the situation this year. His best hope is to try to hold his seed and hope for upsets. This isnt 113 anymore.

HA the talk of the wrestling forum, mr mike peters never even amassed more than a 3rd place is Rhode Island states. And your *ting on a New England champ. Hilarious, but also truly pathetic and sad. Here's the link everyone. Congrats mike! DO you have nothing else in your sad life to do but to be jealous of someone who is far far more succesful at this sport than you ever were? ttp://www.rihssports.com/CHAMPIONS/BOYS/WRESTLING/State%20Individual%20Champions.xlsx

I can't believe there is so much concern over where bloom is wrestling? If you're not him, his parent or his coaches what business of it is yours? He'll wrestle wherever he wants regardless of your opinion. Considering he's a returning NE champ im gonna bet he's gonna be tough to beat. Accusing 2 HS kids of ducking , running or whatever you want to call it is BS. It needs to stop. None of you know what was going on in either kids head....notice i said kids. Coaches make decisions all the time on where to wrestle kids, sometimes it's for the team, sometimes it's for the kid...if you want to make those decisions apply for the job. Until then just sit back and enjoy the wrestling bc it's going to be a great 2 days.
