When did Francis wrestle weylant, peltiere and Cooley Francis wrestled weyant at new englands last year and beat him 3-2 and then wrestled cooley at the sharon lombardo holiday invitational (mt hope tournament) beating him 7-2 but i don't recall him wrestling pellitier If you are going to go back to last year where Francis beat Weyant, than also have to take into consideration this past offseason where Francis lost to both Cooley and Pelletier. (Cooley beat him 2 weeks before the season started in Middletown tourney and Pelletier beat him at BayStates)

I think Ricky Brown from NK should be #1 at 285. He's a beast and he beat Cole head to head at least once. I don't think Cole has ever beaten him.

He went 1-2 at the Eastern States which is a tough tournament, but lost to unranked Danbury, CT wrestler Kyle Fields. This was at 120.

This was at 120. hes a new england champ. 2x state finalist, state champ...who would be ahead of him? can't judge a wrestler just off of one tourney. Ok so are these pound for pound rankings based on this year? high school career? last season? If you are basing it on this season Sauro and Francis are definitely ahead of him. Soto, Stamas, Disano all could arguably be ahead of him for this season too.

Francis DOMINATED Johnson last night, it wasn't even close. There's no competition in state for him. Swanson from Hendricken looked really tough with his win by pinfall over Martinez. Celico looked slick with his early tech! Sauro did not impress me at all.. Also, I'd put Francis any day over Sauro in terms of P4P. 1. Bloom 2. Francis 3. Sauro

Just an assumption here but the cut to 120 may have been one of the reasons behind a poor showing by Bloom at Eastern Nationals, hence Bloom going 126 for the season. Regardless, with Bloom being a NE Champ (the only wrestler in RI right now with a Top 3 showing in New Englands) I don't agree with dropping him as a result of a single tourney, especially if he was wrestling out of weight.

I only brought up that tournament because he hasn't wrestled anyone of consequence in New England this year. He didn't wrestle the Mt. Hope tournament, Moses Brown didn't go to Lowell, etc... Jimmy Sauro has been winning tournaments all over New England, beat the Mass #1 and was successful when BH went to NY. So you are basing your rankings on last years performance.

I think it should be more like this 1. Bloom (MB) 2. Francis (La Salle) 3. Sauro (BH) 4. Jerez (Woon) 5. Stamas (EWG) HM. Disano (BH)

Zach O'Connor is back for BH @ 195, so he will be tough to beat. FYI - He beat Luciano from MT Anthony last year at Mt Anthony. Same kid that placed 2nd in New England and Fenwick lost to in the New England's.

Same kid that placed 2nd in New England and Fenwick lost to in the New England's. I have been waiting to see who BH had at 195. It has been a boring 195, seeing Skawinski sleep through his matches. O'Connor will be his only competition. If they wrestle at their duel meet, the winner will be the state champ. This is not the only boring weight class this year. Is is not because we have dominant wrestlers, it's because we have so many week weight classes. We are having a great conversation on the best P4P, but a majority of our teams cannot even field a full team. Someone mentioned that half of our weight classes already have a overwhelming clear winner for a state title, and I agree. But is that a good thing? Like I said, it's not because they are dominant wrestlers, if they were they would be New England Champs, and that is not the case. In closing, If I had to pick, Bloom is my P4P number 1. And Yup, it's because he is a New England champ, and will do it again this year, and unfortunatly no one else will.

And Yup, it's because he is a New England champ, and will do it again this year, and unfortunatly no one else will. I think you are completely wrong about New England's this season and about RI general. I said before it's quality over quantity this year. There is a ton of talent from 126 to 138 that's just how it fell. But let's ignore those classes. If Hussey is 113 do you think he might have a shot at New England's? How about Jerez at 145? Have you seen him this season? Francis and Peoples will have tough classes but they will compete with anyone in NE. Jimmy Sauro has a track record going back many years of competing at a very high level. I know I know there is this kid in CT blah blah blah. He's been wrestling these same kids for years with a high rate of success. Then if you look at 126 to 138, the top three in those three classes will be battle tested because there is quite a bit of depth there. I think you're underestimating the talent this season and hope our kids don't buy into your negativity. All the answers are about a month away.
