Super surprised about 138 though. That aziz kid (central) would beat Miguel (jsec) and Jared (Johnston) over Ty (classical). Also I think Aziz actually held his ground more to gabe than anyone else. Granted gabe really only had 3 matches. Who is aziz anyways I never hear or seen him ever?

Gabe is good so I won’t discredit aziz off that alone but does he have any decent wins?

I want to say a quick thank you to the Sectional Tournament clerk and FloArena. Tournaments run so much smoother than "in the old days."

Thank you so much, funkroll!! Would you mind sharing a link to the site you are referencing? Would love to take a look and see if it is a resource I can use for my own site (rihssports.com). Thank you again.

I think 126 is the deepest weight class in terms of how much talent there is that won’t place. In the most recent rankings that FunkMaster put together (before sectionals) Rodman, Mazariego, Toj Sam are all unranked. Rodman should be ranked after winning sectionals but the point remains with whoever he bumps off. Don’t think there’s a weight with more talent in the 7-9 range.

Going to have to disagree with you here. IMO 26 is not deep at all.. the top guys are good but after the top 2 anything can really happen. I wouldn’t classify that as deep but more as top heavy in terms of talent. Two weights I am interested in are 32 and 60 due to the many different ways they can play out. 32 to me is really interesting because there is not a favorite. I think the top 4 will consist of Torres, Robichaud, Vieira, Swaim (not in order) with any of these guys able to win it if they show up. After these 4, there are still a number of wrestlers who can show up and podium which will make this weight exciting to follow. Another really interesting weight and IMO the deepest is 160. Zarella is the clear favorite, but 2-7 is wide open. This weight is deep with competitors such as:: Perez, Baccala, Vesey, Santos, Marchesault, and Campbell. Don’t think you will find another weight in RI that has this depth.

He didnt wrestle Zerrela so that will be a great one to watch. I see it Zerrela v Baccala 1/2 Vesey v Perez 3/4 Santos v Thibaudeau 5/6 Campbell v Marchessault 7/8 Based on the bracket 3.0 I have seen.

Marchesseault Beat Santos, Thibedau, Vesey and was beating Campbell 15-4 before spinning himself. That’s lost was the only reason he is not the #4 seed.

On top of that Baccala and Zarrela have faced which resulted in 11-2 Zarrela over Baccala

Marchesseault Beat Santos, Thibedau, Vesey and was beating Campbell 15-4 before spinning himself. That’s lost was the only reason he is not the #4 seed. Marchessault is going to win alot. Not denying that. The bracket works out where he likely gets Perez in the 1/4's the looser of Santos/Baccala in the consi - I predict Baccala wins. Putting Santos up against Marchessault. It was a close match the first time around and I do t think it would be a shock to anyone if Nolan won. In the same breath Preston winning wouldn’t be that shocking either. As far as pinning him self, it happened again at sectionals. The ref looked for it. My only concern at sectionals was it was a very quick call. Typically it's 1 1000, 2 1000. This was closer to freestyle pin.

Completely agree, However Preston Got a first period takedown Then santos escaped then a second period takedown and escape and a third period reversal, although it was close in score it was pretty one way. Concerning the pinning himself. That would also bring marchesseault to face vesey who he also previously beat.

there’s nobody i’d love to see get beat more at states than zarella, will it happen, no. but wow would that be pleasing. same thing with adolfo. just somebody do everybody a favor and knock one of them off. also tyler hunter is going to be a serious problem come state time pay close attention where he falls in the bracket with the seeding
