The PROBOARDS have become Toxic incase Some not all of you don’t know it was created to discuss and Boast OUR HS Wrestlers. To talk about matches and scores that people cannot go to and to let people know that we have wrestlers in Rhode Island going to D1 D2 and D3 colleges and ultimately trying to paint a picture of the Varsity Championship. If you’re a HS Teenager wrestler on these PROBOARDS leave you shouldn’t be on here. You will gain nothing from these conversations. And if you’re a Parent or Coach who can’t handle the truth about your wrestlers then you should leave to it’s not worth the aggravation. My kids don’t wrestle anymore I’m here for one thing to hear about these hard-working kids who some of them have a bright future in Wrestling and I’m Proud to know they’re coming from our state PERIOD I think that high schoolers and parents should be allowed on here because 99% of people don’t comment and just because people have different opinions and ask questions (yes the majority of opinions and questions are stupid) doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be allowed on here. I think that we to be more inclusive that’s why this sport is small because people gatekeeper and can’t take jokes, if someone posts something you don’t love (like certain people’s P4P rankings) just ignore them instead of complaining. People that try to gatekeep and try to keep people off the forms are the reason why this sport isn’t as big as it could be. We are all adults here you can learn to be more inclusive to everyone. If you want great discussion, invite people to the proboards and tell them about it instead of talking to likeminded people. It’s so sad that people get so angry with the most obscure form of social media.

Guys, it's still about respect. It's one thing to say that wrestler A is better than wrestler B. It's just your opinion and frankly no one's (including my) opinion is relevant since it's just conjecture at this point. Fortunately we have a sport where most everyone has a shot at the state tournament where the best wrestler is sorted out the only way that counts: on the mat. It is another matter altogether to simply criticize someone, say that they're overrated or that everyone in an entire weightclass stinks with no basis. You are criticizing someone who works hard, probably harder than you, or else they wouldn't have done well enough to be considered in the rankings.
So yes, let's be inclusive, even of those who joined the boards recently just to sound off. But this is not just any social media site where you say whatever you want under the cloak of anonymity. I don't like being a gatekeeper and knocking folks off this site but I have and I will if they don't show respect for the wrestlers we cover and the other members of this board. This is the only piece of social media in which I have any involvement whatsoever, simply because I live out of state and have no chance to see RI wrestling in person. So I've stayed on the site and tried to help keep it going to be informative and useful to RI wrestling fans. So have many other longtime contributors to whom I am grateful for their information and their insights. So by all means voice your position on this site. We need the current high school students, the parents, the coaches, and the fans with no current skin in the game but who still have a love for and interest in RI wrestling. But please keep it respectful at all times. You are talking about someone's son or daughter, sibling, teammate, friend. And they are participating in the toughest and greatest sport on earth.

Just curious what happened to Serge, I heard he is in some hot water and was curious what happened? Go to the RI HS Wrestling tab at the top of this page and click on the Serge topic and you will see that he addressed the issue in a post.

I think Geas can take at least top 4 in sectionals at 45 this year he’s had a very good performance this year and his most recent loss was To McConnell by decision who might not be wrestling

I’m excited for the sectionals for one simple reason. For the first time in a long time there are people here discussing wrestlers that are never talked about. For or against the sectional tournament, it give teams and individuals an opportunity to shine.

Agreed, I love the sectionals - there's only 3 weight classes where the finals is probably between 2 place finishers this season- 120, 145 & 182 (OW probably coming from 1 of them). That means the other 11 weight classes, other wrestlers will be able to shine tomorrow. The best idea was probably having Div 2 and Div 3 into one sectional, 24 teams, 6 place finishers- things should be interesting, exciting and fun. It's def worth the price of admission.

[br A final that I believe is flying under the radar will be at 32 between Doris and Viera. Neither wrestler is ranked due to weak schedules in div 2 but both should end up on the podium come state time.

I didn’t get a chance to watch them all but 126 and 132 finals were awesome. Glad they brought back sectionals, great experience for the DII/DIII guys who are maybe still working towards being competitive on the state level.
