Seeding meeting is tomorrow, so most likely the day after. Compared to D2s poor showing last year at the state tournament this is a huge turn around in talent.
Etheridge although he hasn’t faced D1 competition he’s a really good kid and I think he can do some damage in the semi finals.
Woonsocket has quite a few guys that could make a deep impact. 6 to be exact. With rumors that Diaz could be on the top side of the bracket and face Joyce in the semis would be interesting. Depaults only in state losses are Wild of SK who should be the 2 seed and they could possibly be seeing each other Sunday morning. Alarie, Costanza, Murphy and Lambert all have tough roads but they have a chance to really shake things up in their weight classes
After an outstanding showing by Lundsten this past Wednesday against Alarie it’ll be interesting to see him up against some of the top guys in D1.
Tollgate has some hammers in Hunter, Wilson, Perrault, and Ferraria. All of which can bring some heat to the table come state.
Juanita Sanchez has two very good wrestlers in Santos and Castro. Santos just recently grinded out a win against Costanza in overtime. Haven’t seen him wrestle at states since his freshman year though, so it’ll be interesting to see.
Burriville probably having the best upper weight in the entire division with Thatcher, Libby, Woodlock, and Greeno. Unfortunately Stockwell is done for the year with a serious hand injury, it would’ve been interesting to see him, he only had one loss on the entire season from the Bristol Eastern heavyweight.

Cool thanks. I love to see some upsets in the state tournaments, especially with kids that I’ve never heard of before beating top ranked kids.

While I like an upset as much as the next guy I see a ton of State title locks in my opinion. 120 - Fry 126 - Fallon 132 - Clarke 145 - Merritt 152 - Faria 160 - Fine 182 - Grifka 195 - Marchione 220- Bailey
That’s 9 out of 14 weight classes. Should be some good matches to get inside the top 3 though to move onto New England’s. Should be a fun weekend of wrestling. Good luck to all wrestlers.

Most recent win over ranked opponent Makes sense, but it should make for an interesting bracket if he brings his A-Game

If it’s anyone to do it it’d be him Looked like he ducked Joyce once this season already

Maybe I used the wrong word by saying “lock” to win a state title. So I’ll make my State title predictions. 106- Joyce 113- Gillis 120- Fry 126- Fallon 132- Clarke 138- Remolina 145- Merritt 152- Faria 160- Fine 170- Dougherty 182- Grifka 195- Marchione 220- Bailey 285- Betencor

There’s a difference between complete locks and guys who are probably 80% - 90%

So let’s simply get some predictions from people with who they think wins a state title this weekend. Without insulting or belittling any of the wrestlers ... everyone has worked hard to get to this point of the season. Nature of the beast — there can only be one on top of the podium for each weight class. Any Given Sunday!
