100 should be an official weight class Why? Because all the skinny guys need a chance with a smaller weight class instead of having to bump up to 106, makes meets score higher, and gives more kids Varsity chances

I am not sure what the demand for a 100 lb weight class would be. If the 100 pounders had a relatively even distribution from 9 to 12th grade, then it would make sense. If they are mostly freshmen, then a freshmen states weight class makes sense.

As always, please let me know if I made any mistakes.
Here are the Final 2017/2018 Rankings (subject to corrections, may change when State Tourney brackets are released based on who is at what weight):
Not sure why Seth Brown hasn’t been wrestling lately. Left him in the rankings for now. Batista back at 138 for Lincoln. Escalera from Woonsocket over Saquib at 182. Dunston over McDowell at 132. McGovern out at 120. Grifka Mount Hope over Villanova at 160. Cirka over Hanson at 220. Frenette over Ladas at 170. At 220 Shaw did come in 4th at the Smithfield Tourney behind Eckert, Seck, and Salas but more recently he beat Eckert, who won the tournament. Batista beat Dunston at Smithfield but it appeared that Dunston was wrestling out of weight for the tournament (match was at 138). Reynolds Scituate over Bonanno. Dougherty over Gosselin at Smithfield. Onajide from Hope over Dougherty at Smithfield. Onajide has no other significant wins, beat Guzman from Cranston East 3-0 and lost to Wuestefeild from Barrington . Dougherty has lost to Burgess, Grifka, Villanova, and Onajide in the past 2 weeks or so. Maybe he just got caught? Thought about dropping him to 6, however, Dougherty has beat Holdredge and Metcalf who are below him so split on what to do here. Leaving it be for now, but this is anyone’s weight class.

McGill 145 Lynch 138 Nappi 132 Watts 126 McGill and Lynch have been at both weights, so not 100% sure where they will go. But Nappi and Watts have been at 132 and 126 for most of the meets. Also great job with the ranks Thank you

138/145 are loaded. Kid from C. East Nick Rutherford is listed at 145 on track but went the entire year at 138. Depending on seeding, he might be one to watch His only loss came in a tournament in mass. Lots of TF and MD

Seems that Cook should be up there at 106. In the last couple of weeks he has beat Lavallee, and Gomes.

Should 138 Lincoln Batista go 145? As a senior does he have chance at 138 to be state champ?

He won’t win states no matter what weight he goes. And although his records been really good against decent opponents he hasn’t looked too good in my opinion

Dougherty beat Grifka the only time they wrestled Holdreage also beat Grifka Nobody in that weight class is unscathed, anybody in that top 6 could win it. Grifka lost to Holdredge. Villanova lost to Grifka. Dougherty lost to Grifka, Villanova, Burgess. Holdredge lost to Dougherty. Burgess lost to Grifka. Someone had to be first and it went to Grifka because he had a very recent win over Villanova, who recently beat Burgess and Dougherty (and Myers is a nice win even though at a different weight), and Grifka also has wins over Burgess and Dougherty. Realistically anybody in that top 5 could have had an argument for first but Grifka has the most ranked wins. Can’t wait to see what happens with this weight class at states.

Dude Grifka lost to Dougherty, don't know why you keep writing that he didn't Sorry about that, you’re right. However even taking this into account Grifka has beaten the #2 and #3 very recently, so not sure if Dougherty over Grifka earlier in the season had much impact. Seeing as nobody is unscathed I’m very open to suggestions / discussion on how this class should be ranked but the way I see it this is the most accurate ranking possible taking into account number or ranked wins, recency of wins, and who beat who. Definitely there are some people that I think are ranked lower than they will end up placing at states but respectfully to all the wrestlers doing this systematically I think the current power ranking is solid.
