Big match up this upcoming Saturday, Fallon vs. Kenny again, should be a good one. It's time to see if this 106 is worth watching out for at HWT. Any thoughts on the match-up? I'd definitely watch out for him. Kids a little spit fire. Kenny better watch his back

When did Watts beat Williams? RI scoreboard shows Williams over Watts by decision on Jan 25th dual meet. in an out of state tournament in concord a couple days ago Williams injury defaulted to Watts in the finals of the Capitol City Classic in Concord, NH this weekend. Nappi didn't wrestle at all. Anyone know his status? So Martino looks like he is the Hendricken heavyweight now to stay.

Yeah I saw that Watts beat Williams in NH, was not aware that it was an injury default. I will fix that as Williams beat Watts in a dual a few days before.
I will also fix 170 and 106. Thank you guys for providing the results very helpful.

MikePeters - What do you think of defending state champ and New England place winner Martino sitting out the first 2 thirds of the season only to come back now?

The Arcane at 152 is younger brother of 170 Arcand who is not wrestling this year

Thank you guys for providing the results very helpful. Should point out that's my interpretation. The wrestlingnh.com website simply says (For.) for the results of Watt over Williams in the 113 final at Capitol City. And Arcand has been confusing to follow since there are two of them, but the older one who would be 170-182 hasn't wrestled this season, and the younger one has wrestled 152-160-170 this year. BTW, there were a lot of good, late season tournaments throughout NE this weekend with a lot of top RI teams. I'll try to update them soon in the "Brackets" section. AtlantaAl

I think you know how I feel about this. If there's a legit injury then what can you do? If it's just a kid sitting, resting then this should be addressed by RIIL. There should be minimum participation to qualify for states or seeding consequences. It's funny this doesn't happen anywhere else in New England...

oh i'm only saying that cause the kid People's who pinned wrzesien in the finals at 170 last year beat Balon by points, and couldn't pin him. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

These rankings are a joke. Everybody knows that rankings, especially on this forum are useless. These kids will decide their fate on the mat in states and New England's. I truly hope none of these young wrestlers read this crap and believe it. And the other thing, who gives a crap who sits out (due to injury or illness or whatever) and who ducks who. If you wanna win states and new england's (or whatever your goal is in these tournaments) then you have to beat the best. I saw someone say its unfair to mess up a kids "ride to the finals" because someone sat out the season and wrestled in states! Are you kidding me? Enough of this participation trophy crap. Only in this state does this happen. If a kid wants to get the to finals or place then he should earn it no matter who shows up to wrestle. Plain and simple. I know I never wanted to get an easy ride, but hey that was then and this is now. I have to say..... all this ranking talk is pretty entertaining 1. Your son isn't ranked. We get it. 2. This is wrestling. There are no "participation trophies". You're thinking of soccer. 3. Your "the youth of today" BS makes me think of my grandfather who used to say the same about my generation. Once again Peters you get it wrong again. 1) shoot has no horse in the race. 2) a lot of kids are soft, the work ethic has gone out the window. There are plenty who bust there butts in the practice room but more not then so. 3) Shoot dominated at the high school and college level in his weight class, so he has the background and accolades to talk about what it takes. 4) do you know how many kids I've seen quit because they were not going to be varsity? If that's not looking for a participation trophy then I don't know what is. Shoot gives back to the sport, I only hope you do as well, outside of your forum participation. Now on a separate note. I like the rankings if gives the wrestling community something to discuss and have fun with. I do agree wrestlers should not get caught up in the rankings. I've seen many 1 seeds drop 2 and out. Best of luck to all in this last up coming month.

MikePeters - What do you think of defending state champ and New England place winner Martino sitting out the first 2 thirds of the season only to come back now? Martino is going to be playing college football. I was told the weight cut to 220 was going to be counter productive.. Once Frank got hurt and was ruled out for the year they were able to bring in Martino, no weight cut. I don't think he would have wrestled at all if Frank hadn't been injured.
