that's pretty funny. sorry to spread rumors. That means that Nelson got OW for beating Morgan....who was fourth the year before. Must be karma.

i dont know how anyone else feels but i am personally embarrassed for any1 who voted for OW at the tourny...To give it to Nelson is understandable if Hurst didnt beat 2 allstate kids including pinning one in the semis and beating malaghan in the finals in ot......not to mention the kid is a freshman......wake up and next time do whats right!!!!!! The coaches did not vote for OW, the referees did this year........ |

hurst should have gotten ow everyone knew nelson was going to domintate nobody gave hurst a chance. this same thing happend at the chad antoch last year with coutu and banks both dominating as expected then a kid from 125 out of know where destroys the comp and wrecked hunt. Hurst was the 3 seed, so apparantly he was given a chance. Gibbons was deserving of the OW as well, he pinned all the way thru Davidson f/ Carmel at the Chad Antoch last yr didn't come outta no where, he was the 4 seed in a stacked class but very well deserving. Coutu at 135 had 1st period pins all thru, Piere Saint f/ Stamford was deserving w/ wins over Irving, Alden, and Alves, while having Farrell in the bracket to boot. Its an opinion, not a slap to anyone. There's no point in crying over something that won't be changed. I think Meyers should of gotten OW for RI last yr, and I think Hurst should of gotten it as well, but they didn't. So they'll conintue to wrestle and improve and wrestle for themselves, not an award. |

after further investigation it looks like both Hiebner and Malaghan were supposed to be at 119 according to skin fold tests and rules.So I guess Hurst did even better than what everybody thought

You'd better recheck your facts before makeing such statements. You question my integrity now, Pat is allowed to wrestle at 112, w/ 112 being his lowest weight, Heibner is allowed to get down to 109 as of 12/13.

There were several people who, although not technically allowed to be at a given weight b/c of the skin fold test, made weight given the four pound allowance. Since it's a "friendly tournament" no one made a big deal about it. They weren't trying to cheat.

I know you guys are over this but can anyone remember that weight class i was talking about? Ithink the kid from EP went up a class and wrestled simone because the wt. class was so stacked. Belanger won. Petrucci was 4th. This was states like 2 years ago.

breagy, myers, farrell, morgan, nelson, and even comstock all looked very sharp in this tournament. its going to be interesting to see how they all do as the season rolls on.
