Honestly? I wish they’d get rid of it. You want them to get rid of freshman states? Yeah. The ones that matter are wrestling at the varsity state tournament anyways. Allow the JV kids their day and that’s it.

I agree in the sense that the RIIL should look to eliminate the freshman state tournament and reserve the day for the JV kids. It’s too hectic and ridiculous to have both tournaments running at the same time in the same facility. Most other sports do not have a tournament geared specifically towards freshman.

I wouldn't say get rid of it. But definitely separate JV from Freshman. I'd back that

With numbers in wrestling on the rise. Freshman States could be the first week in Feb with the JV states the second week, Sectionals 3rd week and Varsity States the 4th

Who showed up and dominated at freshman states? Who won at each weight? Who had the best match? Was any big upsets? 100- Michael Quinn BH 106- Michael Owens BH 113- Charles Ford NP 120- Aydin Schifino EP 126- Anthony Lombardi MTHP 132- Norman Trott CW 138- Alberico Mancini CW 144- Aidan Fahlman CHAR 150- X’avian Hopper EP 157- Aidan Tattrie COV 165- Nicholas Rogers MTHP 175- Dante Richardson CW 190- Robert Wray LSA 215- Joseph Vitolo EP 285- Kayson Kong BH The best finals matches. I Couldn’t Pick Between these two Matches, In My Opinion Was In The Finals At 150, Hopper Ended Up Winning Against Polofsky 6-0 But The Match Was Much Closer Than What The Score Board Shows. Hopper Was Up 3-0 With 5 Seconds Left And Ended Up Getting 3 Backs To Secure A Win. Michael Owens vs Zamain Garcia Is Also A Huge Candidate For Match Of The Night, The Match Was Tied 7-7 Going Into The 3rd Period And Michael Owens Sealed The Match Up With 2 Points To Win. Upsets Zamian Garcia ran through his bracket and ended up losing 9-7 in a tough match to Michael Owens. Owen Polofsky Pinned his way through and lost a tough match to X’avian Hopper 6-0. Matthew Thibaudeau was doing amazing in his bracket and got taken down at the last second in semi finals to get upsetted by Nicholas Andruchow. Landon Fitzsimmons Loses a tough match that could have gone either way agaisnt X’avian Hopper 7-5. 2 Points where stall calls.
