New youth club has started in Northern RI... Burrillville Lightning. We are looking to grow the sport of wrestling specifically in northern Rhode Island. We will be wrestling a competitive schedule throughout the season attending all of the RIWA Tournaments other than Middletown. We will also be competing in MA, CT & NH tournaments, as well as youth duals in MA and CT for additional experiences. We currently operate out of Burrillville Middle School.
Off Season will continue as a K-12 and currently looking to host a couple tournaments this spring and summer. We will also be starting up an old man wrestling team for anyone out of high school that wants to stay in shape, relive the glory days, learn how to wrestle, or even just blow off steam. I have had success running this elsewhere and excited to bring it to RI. The pilot program had a couple dozen adults with an age range of 19-65.
