Hello All,
I posted this to Facebook, figured I would add it here as well. These will be posted regularly. Feel free to participate. The answer video is already provided. Please see the other thread for the response. The next question will be posted Monday.
You Make the Call: Situation #1

A tough Freshman enters an early season tournament at 132 lbs. Due to being a freshman, they are not seeded and must participate in a pigtail match in the 32-man bracket. They win the pigtail, but loses their next match (16-man round) to the number 1 seed. They wrestle all the way back winning their next 3 bouts. In the semi-finals, their eventual opponent is hurt and cannot continue in the tournament. Therefore, they would win their consi-semi match by forfeit.
Please select the statement below that MOST appropriately describes how the potential forfeit in the consi-semis and potential match in the consolation finals plays out.
A) The wrestler is NOT allowed to accept the forfeit. They have reached their limit of 5 matches in one day of competition.
B) They are allowed to accept the forfeit as forfeits do not count towards event match numbers. However, they cannot compete in the consolation finals as they have reached their 5 match limit.
C) They are allowed to accept the forfeit as forfeits do not count towards event match numbers. If this was a post-season event, they would be allowed to wrestle the consolation finals as the match limit is raised to 6 in the post-season only.
D) They are allowed to accept the forfeit. However, the forfeit counts as their 6th match and precludes them from wrestling in the consolation finals.
E) They are allowed to accept the forfeit as forfeits do not count towards event match numbers. They are also allowed to compete in the consolation finals as they are allowed 6 matches in any one day event.
