Lynch from LA Salle placed last year. He should prob be ranked 3rd at 138. His only loss in state so far is Perez. La Salle doesn't send all their variety guys to the South County or the North Providence Tourneys. Hopefully they send their variety lineup to Cumberland Tourney this weekend.

Aiden Baker(scit) beat Voute by 1 at the Chad Antoch in the quarters. He made it to the finals and faced Armstrong and held him to a 11-0 major. Baker is a tuff kid and should definitely be top 6 this year at States.

Cam Davis injury defaulting out of a match is such an embarrassment to the RIIL and it’s all his coaches fault. First he illegally transferred to a school (like it’s the NCAA)probably because he got recruited, then goes out there and get hurt because he cut too much weight, we need someone to make some rule changes, or have some coaches be accountable for these kids health.

Totally agree. These coaches should be ashamed at what they're allowing to go on inside of their programs. Allowing a wrestler to risk his health so you can finish a spot higher at the state tournament is pathetic.

There should never be a time where a high school athlete has to make such a dramatic cut that he is cramping to the point his fingers are locking up. It’s inexcusable. That type of weight cut can do lasting damage to an athlete. That is the entire purpose of weight management, to prevent this sort of thing. I hope the RIIL takes a hard look at the situation and makes an adjustment. There should never be a time in high school wrestling where a win means more than the health of an athlete.

What happened to him that the “coach of the year” made his kid suck unnecessary amounts of weight and then his kid was crying on the mat begging to be pulled out from cramping so bad and never pulled him out.

What happened to him that the “coach of the year” made his kid suck unnecessary amounts of weight and then his kid was crying on the mat begging to be pulled out from cramping so bad and never pulled him out. Apparently he cramped up so bad he could barely walk and his fingers locked up. But why pull your kid out, PowerPoints are worth risking permanent damage to your body right? I guess that’s what Centrals coaching staff thinks. Could that be considered a form of child abuse? I think there has to be consequences for this, Central is clearly cheating the weight management.

Before we go bashing coaches. How do we even know that they skirted the rules? If he was still at CWest, would he have gone the same weight?

Risking your health to avoid wrestling somebody is unhealthy, and no coach should allow it in their program—bottom line.

When you end up so drained because you cut so much weight that you are fully cramping up on the mat, you’ve definitely cut too much weight and are below the allotted 7% of bodyfat, there is no way that he walks around normally at the weight or near it, I can’t be the only person thinking that there is something shady going on here

Central is much worse than Cranston west education wise and both the Davis go to schools not even remotely each other so he just went there because west is trash(no offense) and central is actually decent. Interesting to see what he does with Ivan gone, could easily go 126 and get top three or go 132 and be an easy finalist. Also feel he thinks 120 is an easier finals while he won’t have to deal with Ellis(as he had to face him the past three years and nearly got teched last year and dodged him at Lowell). Cam is a great kid but it’s going to cause major damage for him all for a state title

We will transfer where we want, when we want, and cut what weight we want.

We will transfer where we want, when we want, and cut what weight we want. And that’s the problem with coaches, they promote kids bad health to win states titles.
