South County Invitational

A good early season opener for the South County wrestling squads as well as a dozen other RI teams and two out of state invitees. Cranston West edged Chariho with an impressive seven finalists while North Kinston was third with five champs and Hendricken was fourth with mostly second-teamers though seven place-winners. Narragansett rounded out the top five, a good comeback for a team that has had dwindling numbers the last few seasons. Woonsocket and Tollgate each had a champion. The most interesting finals bout may have been at 126 where Tyler Schartner gave up an early lead to teammate Nick Floody then came back to pin him.
