For the second week in a row Coventry went to a tournament hosted by a Connecticut powerhouse, this Dec. 27 at the Ryan Sabbagh Holiday tourney at Danbury, the multi-multi time CT chanps and recent New England champs. The Oakers placed 4th behind winner Danbury, Staples and Bristol Eastern, ranked 6th and 4th respectively in Conn. Coventry champs were Fry and Clarke again, and despite the wealth of NE talent present there were few key match-ups. Danbury's best wrestler, NHSCA Champ and 3rd ranked nationally at 132 Ryan Jack wrestled at 138 and won easily, bypassing what could have been a New England finals preview with Clarke if NE champ Jack does go 132. Clarke won easily as well, pinning his Danbury opponent in the finals, while Fry edged Tyler Knox of prep school power Northfield Mt. Hermon. Myers and Robichaud finished runner-up to Danbury opponents who were each 5th place-winners in the CT Open last season. Remolina finished 4th at 138.
