As this is my first time coaching high school in RI, I was curious as to whether there are any JV Wrestling Tournament opportunities?
I wrestled my high school career at North Attleboro High School and for many years, we hosted a JV "State" Tournament. It was open to any and all teams to allow their JV wrestlers to compete for a title. This was held on Martin Luther King Day and the North Attleboro varsity wrestlers were required to run the tables...many moons ago, I remember even refereeing the matches.
Outside of this tournament, we used to send our JV team to Marshfield Holiday JV, which ran the day prior to the varsity tournament. I remember having an early morning practice for varsity and we would all pile into a few vehicles and drive up to cheer on the JV Squad.
I would love to get more information on this if possible and if not, I would love to work with anyone near Davies Tech to set something up. I would love to do it myself, but we currently only have one mat and limited gym space for the time being. I would like to set something up in the future, even if it ends up being next year. I feel strongly that competition is always good competition. I also remember the team bonding this created for my team at NA by cheering on the JV guys and girls. I also remember being a freshman and how awesome it felt to have my varsity squad cheering me on.
Let me know!

There are always jv matches on duel nights. There's also the futures tourny which is JV states. A lot of in state tournys will allow some non scorers to wrestle as well throughout the season.
