Rule 5, Section 12, Article 2 Flagrant Misconduct (automatic disqualification) and -3 Team Points 1. Striking 2. Butting (head) 3. Elbowing 4. Kicking an opponent 5. Use of any tobacco products 6. Biting Dropping an elbow like that is not a POINT. It’s automatic disqualification and -3 team points.. Not may be disqualified, actually disqualified. There’s no room for personal judgement in that scenario. Ref got it wrong. so if it’s -3 team points did the dual between CW and NK really end in a tie? Do you get the 6 + the -3 or is it just the -3?

Someone please explain how Ford got DQ'd against Walters at 170- I'm just curious because the same thing happened last year with Walters and Gosselin at the Smithfield tournament... I’m not a fan of this forum for a handful of reasons, but I have found it useful for certain things. I’ve been involved with RI wrestling for a while now, and I know how the rumors go around here. I’m posting this video of Ford’s (NK 170) match With CWest because it’s the best way for everyone to make their own opinion while actually seeing it for themselves. While I disapprove of what Ford did, the DQ, in my opinion, was not the right call. I know I’m biased, but you can all decide for yourselves. In the end the ref made the call and that’s what we have to respect. Fast forward to 1:50 youtu.be/EIPgi3bPuIo much respect for the NK program, but does this video show the clenched fist by Ford towards either the ref or his opponent and his unwillingness to leave the mat, luckily the asst coach recognized this and ran out to control him. I’m sure a highly ranked wrestler didn’t like getting thrown by an unranked wrestler, so I understand his frustration .. but you can’t retaliate in that fashion.. there is a lot more to the story than is being given..

I watched the video and the clenched fist, which also is wrong, is not what led to the DQ. That was afterwards. The NK kid had the match well in control. his frustration was more likely from a blow to the head from the CW kids elbow and not from a throw. Where he seems to have lost his cool and "retaliate" as you say is after the blatant elbow to his head. He gives the CW kid a push... That was the retaliation that was DQ'd. Not anything to do with a clenched fist. So there is really not alot more to the story than what everyone can see on the video. In the end it is unfortunate no matter which team you are on.
