I get these rankings are just opinions and it's tough when coaches don't post their results, but I'm confused with the 106 rankings. Fry is the clear cut #1 ranked kid at this weight, but how is Lewis from MP even considered the #2 ranked kid over anyone else mentioned? Keep in mind, Lewis has been beaten by kids that aren't even included here. Felix, Lynch, and LaVallee are in the mix at this weight and have clear cut wins, not lucky ones, over a few kids mentioned here. Realistically it should look like this: 106 1)Fry Cov 2)Gillis Cumb 3)Gomes MH 4)Lynch Linc 5)Felix Tol 6)LaVallee John, Zabbo BH, or Cook Pon Sorry I try to keep opinions out of it but there havent been many results to base 106 rankings off of. I'll double check results today but n the meantime, are there any specific matches you can point to to justify that ranking? IE Lewis losses or Gillis wins over #3-6?

Okay so Fry and Gomes are undefeated as far as I can tell. Felix's only loss I can find is to #1 Fry, he's beaten Lavalle twice. Lavalle is 1-1 against Lynch, winning at Mt. Hope but losing at the NP tournament. Lavalle beat Cook at NP tourney. Felix beat Lewis at NP tourney. Lewis over Zabbo and Hawkins at Wilson Cup. Thanks to Gable series for helping out on this one.
1) Fry 2) Gomes 3) Felix 4) Gillis 5) Lynch 6) Lavalle
HM: Lewis
Other corrections:
Crocker beat Jolcimat earlier in the season. Sepulveda at 182 now.

While Disano prob still has the edge, he didn't place last year at NE's, Caltigirone 2X state, placed 6th at NE's last yr. Gosselin beat Holdredge twice last year at states placing 3rd, they won't meet till states. I think Bonnano has a clear edge over Soares even though no matches this yr, won the south County at 138 and placed 5th last season in States. Rankings are tough, nice work.

If you consider that Coventry is the best team in the state at least at a tournament level, shouldn't it be considered that Chariho should be in the no.1 spot due to their victory over the team recently at the Chad Antoch tournament?

And also Gosselin did beat holdredge 2 Times in states last year, he should be above holdredge at 152. He won’t face Holdredge, Myers, or Rivit until states.

Disano didn't place at NE last year but is also a year removed from being a NE runner up, debatable weather or not only last years results should be used but with Disano widely considered the man to beat at 138 I figured there's enough there to justify him at the #1 spot. Fixed Holdredge/Gosselin as well, my thinking was that Gosselin hasn't faced much competition this year and Holdredge has been looking really solid recently losing a close match to Myers, but you're right Gosselin should hold the spot until proven otherwise. Tough ranking kids from teams like Barrington that don't see much in-state competition, I believe Gosselin wasn't even ranked last year and ended up taking third at the state tournament.

Anyone hear if Holland is injured? I know last year he was injured at states. He has been wrestling in dual meets according to TrackWrestling.

Not necessarily, a small tournament such as Chad Antoch allows wrestlers who probably won't score many points at states to put up more points at Chad Antoch then they most likely will at states, and still caps the best wrestlers from each team at the 30 maximum points a wrestler can score for his team. Because of this the result of the team race at small tournaments can be much different than what it will most likely be at states, and because of this the individual rankings are used to determine team ranks rather than particular tournament results.

Thoughts on the cranston west 145? He’s already lost to materese of NP and Shaw of Cumberland and neither are ranked in the top 6. And last year went 0-2 at states

I agree the Chad is small scale compared to the State’s where Chariho’s back door scorers won’t score like they did in the Chad. I see them finishing 4th behind Coventry, BH, Pon.

Is it a strategy of some kind for coaches not to report matches or are they just too busy? For those of us that aren't in the loop it would be nice to see results.

Lots of movement for these rankings. These were kind of tough to do the new reporting system for matches is on Trackwrestling this year instead of RIIL and its not great. Not to mention coaches haven't been doing a great job at posting results. If anyone has information that isn't reflected in these rankings please share it'd be a huge help. Cumby's lineup is finally set with Gillis at 6, Reilly at 13, and Passanante as 120. Clarke and Merritt were slated to wrestle again in the Chad Antoch finals but Clarke didn't wrestle in the finals, leaving him at #1 for now since he did beat Merritt earlier in the season. Remalina had a very impressive tournament at Chad Antoch, moved him up to #5 but wouldn't be suprised to see him continue to climb. DiSano down to 138, returning NE Finalist so I put him at #1 over Caltagairone. Young back at 145 he pinned Kadar in the Antoch finals so he's at #2. Looks like Bonanno is up to 145. Holdredge and Myers wrestled a great match at Antoch finals, Myers won 7-4 so no movement there for now. Rivet down to 152. Hancock over Shaw at 220 moves Hancock to #1 and Shaw down to #2. Based on placing only looks like Coventry is the team to beat. Expect them to rack up a ton of bonus points as well might be tough for anyone to catch them. Rankings as of 1/8/2018 Team: 1) Coventry 2) Char 3) BH 4) LSA 5) Pono 106 1) Fry 2) Gomes 3) Felix 4) Gillis 5) Lynch 6) Lavalle HM: Lewis 113 1) Fallon LSA 2) Holland Pil 3) Reilly Cumb 4) Joyce Pon 5) Remalina Cov 6) Stevenson CW HM: Iacobucci BH 120 1) Williams BH 2) McGovern LSA 3) Gomez CW 4) Passante CUMB 5) Rizzo NP 6) Skiffington SK 126 1) Clarke Cov 2) Merritt Char 3) Fine BH 4) Leonard Barr 5) Perry SK 6) Rizzo NP 132 1) Brown Cov 2) Watts Pil 3) Hamilton WW 4) McDowell Woon 5) Maroney BH 6) Deasley Tol 138 1) DiSano BH 2) Caltagirone Cov 3) Lynch Pon 4) Nappi MH 5) Vanhegingan Pil 6) Castillo Woon 145 1) McGill Pon 2) Young Cov 3) Kadaar West 4) Soares Pil 5) Bonanno Char 6) Reid BH 152 1) Rivet BH 2) Myers Narr 3) Gosselin Burr 4) Holdredge West 5) Villanova Pon 6) Testa John 160 1) Dougherty Char 2) Burgess John 3) Metcalf Cov 4) Brown NK 5) Grifka MH 170 1) Harrison LSA 2) Ladas SK 3) Burgess John 4) Frenette Pon 5) Gonzalez Woon 6) Anderson Char 182 1) Wrzsien Char 2) Bradley CW 3) Sepulveda PIL 4) Saqib Linc 5) Monteiro John 6) Brzoza SK HM: Feliciano Hope 195 1) Riggs Pon 2) Sangare Cumb 3) Holmander SL 4) Grigorian LSA 5) Duscha Char 220 1) Hancock Cumb 2) Shaw Char 3) Marshall SK 4) Crocker NK 5) Joicimat NP 6) Hanson LSA 285 1) Delbonis LSA 2) Amaral EP 3) Hauron CW 4) Guarcas Hope 5) Rimoshytus Barr 6) Crocker NK

The Trackwrestling results for 12/30 Juanita vs Barrington 285 match show Jesus Castro (Juanita Sanchez) over Nick Rimoshytus (Barrington High School) (Fall 0:00). This is incorrect Rimoshytus pinned Castro and if its the match I'm remembering it was a pin in under 15 seconds.

Barker from TG pinned the #3 from pilgrim at their dual meet a couple of weeks ago. It seems as though he is under the radar and could potentially make some noise at states.

thoughts on Eric Watts from Pilgrim moving down to 126? Higher risk in that 126 is a lot deeper and Watts could potentially place lower than I expect he would at 132, but higher reward in that he gives himself a realistic title shot at 126, which I don't think he had with Seth Brown sitting atop 132. I respect the state championship or bust mentally, really like the move.
