Young was beat out of the 138 spot by Caltagirone so he tried wrestling off for the 145 spot. He then tried wrestling Ethan Gouveia for the 145 spot and lost. So that is part of the reason.

Young - told two diff stories 1 - he can't win a wrestle off or 2 - he broke a school policy and on leave for a month Only time will tell Young out due to school disciplinary reason.

Heading into the winter break, can we have some updated rankings, now that we've seen majority of the teams wrestle and are more familiar with who's in which weight classes

For anyone new to the rankings, these are entirely systematic. Based on who beat who THIS SEASON. If there are no matchups from these season to determine ranks in a certain weight (common at this point in the season), results from last season may be taken into account. These rankings in no way reflect my opinions. If I missed any head to head matchups that should result in a change in the rankings please let me know.
Note: Since there hasn’t been a lot of wrestling yet this is going to be pretty shoddy. I expect a lot to change quickly once the season starts going (and coaches start putting in match results). Also listed a few people who are not in the rankings right now due to not being able to crack the lineup or other reasons who did well as states last year that will most likely be ranked upon return.
120 looks like a weak weight class this year I think if any of the top 4 from 126 cut down or if Holland bumps up they could contend for a title. For the team race Chariho has the most ranked guys right now but Coventry has 4 #1 ranked wrestlers.
Significant Absences: Andrews Pon, Young Cov, Bautista Cumb

All 3 just won the Marshfield holiday tournament
106 - Gillis 113 - Reilly 120 - Passante
All 3 should be ranked Gillis beat lavalle Reilly returning state place finisher Passante beat Gomez

Yesterday in at Westerly Tourney:
Fry and Remolina won 106 and 113 respectively.
Looks like Clarke forfeited to Merritt in the finals not sure what the deal was with that.
Young is back at 145 pinned Kadar in the finals.
Myers beat Holdredge 7-4 heard it was an awesome match looking forward to seeing that rematch at states, could go either way.
New rankings up soon.

Lots of movement for these rankings. These were kind of tough to do the new reporting system for matches is on Trackwrestling this year instead of RIIL and its not great. Not to mention coaches haven't been doing a great job at posting results. If anyone has information that isn't reflected in these rankings please share it'd be a huge help.
Cumby's lineup is finally set with Gillis at 6, Reilly at 13, and Passanante as 120. Clarke and Merritt were slated to wrestle again in the Chad Antoch finals but Clarke didn't wrestle in the finals, leaving him at #1 for now since he did beat Merritt earlier in the season. Remalina had a very impressive tournament at Chad Antoch, moved him up to #5 but wouldn't be suprised to see him continue to climb. DiSano down to 138, returning NE Finalist so I put him at #1 over Caltagairone. Young back at 145 he pinned Kadar in the Antoch finals so he's at #2. Looks like Bonanno is up to 145. Holdredge and Myers wrestled a great match at Antoch finals, Myers won 7-4 so no movement there for now. Rivet down to 152. Hancock over Shaw at 220 moves Hancock to #1 and Shaw down to #2. Based on placing only looks like Coventry is the team to beat. Expect them to rack up a ton of bonus points as well might be tough for anyone to catch them.

I get these rankings are just opinions and it's tough when coaches don't post their results, but I'm confused with the 106 rankings. Fry is the clear cut #1 ranked kid at this weight, but how is Lewis from MP even considered the #2 ranked kid over anyone else mentioned? Keep in mind, Lewis has been beaten by kids that aren't even included here. Felix, Lynch, and LaVallee are in the mix at this weight and have clear cut wins, not lucky ones, over a few kids mentioned here. Realistically it should look like this:
106 1)Fry Cov 2)Gillis Cumb 3)Gomes MH 4)Lynch Linc 5)Felix Tol 6)LaVallee John, Zabbo BH, or Cook Pon
