Just trying to get some discussion started:
The last five weeks of the wrestling season are among us and here is a few questions are observations
Dual-Meets
Division 1 - once again the RI all stars who reside at BH will go undefeated. Does any know the RI record for most dual-meets won in a row?
Division 2 -it looks like the best teams could all be located in Div 2 b as its a five team race tween Pilgrim Burrillville Cranston East Woonsocket and West Warwick. The five teams have a combined 3 losses. Pilgrim will go undefeated
Rest of dual-meet season Are there any more important matches tween individuals that might happen within the next couple of weeks?
Smithfield Tournament: Looking online at teams that are going we will see what might befinals preview tween Monterio (Chariho) n Jerez (Woonsocket). That match alone will be worth the price of admission. My prediction is that Monterii will win and we can put his name on the p4p list and remove Jerez.
Misc Predictions Disano will be beat bloom at states Brodeur will beat soto in the finals in one of the most anticipated rematches in a long time. Fenwick is wrestling and he will win states Francis will lose in the finals Zuller will become state champ at 132 Whoever is state champ at 138 should be ow
Are there any freshman who we should watch at freshman states?
Please respond back

I think Johnson will beat Francis. Look in years past, a guy who loses in the first matchup comes back and wins in the finals. It happens more than you think

Prediction:Bloom wrestles Stamus when they meet (I believe next week?) and goes 32 at states. If he does meet him next week he'll know he shouldn't go 132 at states. I'm joking of course but it does seem Stamas is being underestimated. He did win states last year and if you look at his high school career wrestles his best at states.

I meant no disrespect to Stamas or any other wrestler. Just watching the box scores and made a prediction. Bloom is a small 32, strong and driven, but is that enough to get past him........., should he have gone 20 if he did not want to stay at 26? Some movement at 38 but other than that things look pretty settled in.

I think Stamas, Zuller, and Celico are all just too big for Bloom. He's a great wrestler but that's a huge jump.

Well if they both decide to wrestle 32 which very well could not take place I think it could very well go either way. Seeing RIIL doesn't really make the coaches post results in a timely fashion Bloom could be at the point of no return and have to go 32. Zuller might have to go 38 or it could be an even 50 50 split on the matches and then it will be decided at states. I don't think any other weight classes have wrestlers in that position and therefore are pretty much decided.

My prediction: Bloom will not go 132 against Stamas or at States.
If he does go 132 tonight, Stamas wbf in the 2nd period.

Well all I can say is states will probably be done before the results are posted on RIIL

I have heard bloom did not weigh in, but did in fact ask for an exhibiton which was declined by stamas Why not just weigh-in and wrestle him for real then? Is this a seeding thing?

I have heard bloom did not weigh in, but did in fact ask for an exhibiton which was declined by stamas If Stamas turned down the match he should be embarrassed. Bloom is a gladiator for bumping up and challenging another state champion, probably why bloom is a New England and state champion. You should always wrestle the best competition any chance you get. That's the only way to become one of the best in New England. What does it matter if it's an exhibition match or not. The match would have given both wrestlers an invaluable experience for the season, in preparation for the upcoming New England championships.

His team took a forfeit at 126 and 132 because he wasn't prepared to wrestle. In fact, if he had wrestled his team probably would have won the dual. Stamas doesn't owe anyone a practice run. If you really want to wrestle you weigh-in and get on the mat.

When is the next time stamas will get to face a New England champ? Sounds like a good practice run for the upcoming New Englands.
He doesn't owe bloom anything. He owes it to him self. It's hard to find top level competition like that in RI.

Yeah but tamas gets hurt with 20 days before states? Not worth it, if bloom really wanted to wrestle stamos it would have happened

Last season is last season. There are no New England champs until the first week of March 2016. This is the 132 lb weight class. Bloom hasn't wrestled anyone at 132 and nobody in the class cares about last years 113 lb champ.
On top of that, Stamas has wrestled Lowell and Chelmsford tournaments this year in REAL matches. No exhibitions. Celico has beaten #2, #3, #4, in Mass. Creamer has wrestled top out of state comp in Maine and Mass.
They are proven competitive at 132, Bloom is not. Get on the scale and make weight if you really want to wrestle.
