Does anyone think someone other then EWG will win it this year? Other than barrington and maybe one or two other teams perhaps keeping it close, I would be surprised if EWG ran away with it like they did last year. In general the next couple of weeks should be very exciting! Good luck to everyone!

EWG has a good duel team this year. The Twins and Neff are favored to with there weight classes. Anderson at 170, Riecke at 182, and Stamos as 120 will also be there fighting for top spots. If they keep a majority of their wrestlers in there until the semis then they will walk away with the DII crown.

That group is going to be in the semis for sure. Then throw in persichino and riccutti having a good shot at semis as well. Plus them finishing the season , 17-0 .
They will be on a roll

That is a great season and with some great talent to add,but shouldnt they have been move to D1 last yr or was that even possible.I commend them on such a great season but it would have been different and more beneficial for all in D1,I am just not sure how a team moves up or do they just avoid it for other reasons?

Next year is a re-alignment year, the RIIL bases it's team placement (D1 or D2)on school size, over-all records f previous years, and state placement. In past years if a teram wanted to come down they could provided a team wanted to move up. Last alignment it was made clear that that would not happen then. EWG was once in D1 on a voluntary move up, but came back down after low numbers. EWG and Narragansett will never be forced to move up based on their school size alone. There are schools that should take the leap just to avoid taking so many D2 forfeits, while WV, Woon, Midd, and Westerly struggle with numbers in D1, I only see Woon, and Midd wanting to come down. Only time will tell |
