Does anyone have any info on how returning place finishers are rewarded with power points? Does it matter if they are at a different weight than last year? Do they still keep those points if they are at a higher weight class? Or lower?

Coach, there should be info at the Freshman/JV tourny this coming weekend, but to answer your question, I believe its 100,80,60,40,20,10 based on top 6, same goes for NE place finishers, there used to be a bonus for at same weight, as well as bonus for win over higher seeded wrestler, but no longer, they keep points regardless of weight. Hopefully we will have out our bylaws soon enough which will cover a wide range of questions and situations. See you Fri.

Thank you, I just feel like every person I talk to isn't sure about a lot of stuff. Something in writing would be great. Thanks for the info

Personally I don't think they should get anything for last year but that's for another day I guess.

Is there a place to access power points for a legit mid season rankings? Or to reference then for a pre season rankings...seems like a good way to market the sport? Keeps people interested.

Well, if you don't want to use power points from the previous years finishes, perhaps a Division I Sectional is in order. Placement at the Sectional determines seeding at the State Championship. That sounds familiar...

Wildfire, D2 uses previous years state and NE placements for D2 tourny also. The wrestlers are rewarded for their past accomplishments which is great for them, but unfortunately coaches use those points to duck opponents and bump around to benefit the wrestlers seeds. Every system has it's flaws and loop holes, every coach is there to do whats best for his wrestler, but in the end, the cream rises to the top. Coach there is no place to enter or view power points, your only resource is the RIIL web page.
