Awesome tool for kids to get an idea of who there opponent is , but shouldnt get to wrapped up in it.

I was thinking about it more from a spectators point of view. It would be great to be able to follow the sport on a New England level of competition. It would be exciting for fans to watch how their favorite wrestlers stack up, and build some excitement for those upcoming close battles. Usually a top level competitor has the mental preparation for big matches under control. You only can do what you have prepared yourself to do, although once in a while you realize you can catch a break if you wrestle to the end with "all your heart".

In theory it would be great to use this as a promotional tool, a fun way to compare and follow wrestlers we all enjoy competing with and against. But RI has trouble getingt all of their coaches to call in results to RIIL in a timely manner, we don't get from page headlines so many of us are seeking info in spots where it's supposed to be only find it isn't there. How can we expect the general public to get interested if we can't even get the info to where it supposed to be? It makes us look as though we don't care....even though that's opposite of the truth.
I think it's a great idea

There is so much passion when it comes to preparation and competition in this sport, it is unfortunate it is not being put in to the promotion end. Maybe we can start by asking the coaches who might overlook it to update the riil stats as soon as possible. I don't know who designed the page for mass but maybe they could help this site put one up, it would be a huge step in the direction of creating some excitement over this hugely underrated sport.

We added the results from 112 Rhode Island dual matches in the http://masswrestlingstats.com database. Due to differences in the spelling of wrestlers' and school names, it will take a few days to correct and merge the information. Until then, wrestlers may show up in 2-3 places.
If there is sufficient interest, we will create a way to search Rhode Island wrestlers by division and section. We will also try to get additional tournament data entered, although that is time consuming. Cumberland is entered through the 160 weight class.

Very nice Boston dad. I can see this turning into something to generate lots of excitement on a New England level. There are still several more tournaments that will take place out of state for Rhode Island Teams. Come on Vermont, Newhampshire, Maine and Connecticut, get on board!! I know I am getting over enthusiastic but this is looking very impressive!!

My son is back in college, so I am doing it largely on my own. As a result, it may take a few days to enter, but I will update the records as soon as possible. Also, as I said earlier, entering all of the matches from tournaments is a real time killer, but if there are specific wrestlers/matches that would assist the rankings analysis or spur additional discussion, please let me know and I will enter that data as well. I am hopeful that my son will be able to create a drop down menu that will allow the RI people to search RI wrestlers by school or division.
