He was incredible as a freshman in High School too, One of the best Natural wrestlers I ever seen in RI. He had an unbelievable shot, aggressive as hell, everybody 2 weights up or down feared him. Howard is awesome too, very good all around wrestler and Torres was just starting to peak, would of been a contender this year.

Making the grade in school is very important as well as showing up for school, lets just take for example the Labrie Twins, off to Brown next yr to wrestle and get one of the best educations in the Country,it goes alot deeper than just wrestling, these 2 boys should be a power of example for all and also the many who have already gone through and used education and thier wrestling skills to create great lives for themselves.

Good point wrestler83. Injury aside , going to practice every day , keeping grades up , staying on weight , staying out of trouble. , it's all part of it. It's not easy.

it's not supposed to be easy. being a good citizen, a good student, a good wrestler in that order. it's meant to be hard because life isn't easy.so with any luck they learn it young and learn it correctly. some stumble and get back up, some don't. we will see who gets back up in the next few weeks.

Unfortunately RI does not have an official ranking system, like other states (I don't know why?). The people who do the rankings, do it on their own, and we all appreciate it. The season is almost at the halfway point, and many teams have been to several tournaments, so there is enough data for an updated rankings. To those who do the rankings, can you post one, we are all waiting. ThankYou in advance...

If all coaches had their results in on time we could use a power point system like with state seeding....then you just add the points and your rankings take care of themselves...but not having results is where that gets lost. Hopefully it gets better.

If you look on RIIL right now, there are at least 20 meets that have been completed, but the scores are not posted. My son's team post their score the same night or the next day. It is not hard, some coaches are just lazy or do it on purpose for strategic reasons. I know they have to be posted by a certain time, but the RIIIL does not enforce it. I guess until someone with authority straightens this out, we just have to suffer through it.

Here are my personal rankings (though switchit rankings should trump mine). I left Howard, Torres, and Conte off because they haven't wrestled and nobody has given me a answer if,when, and what weight they are returning at.
