Here is the info on the tournament:
Where: Mt Hope high school
199 chestnut st Bristol RI
When: December 14, 2013
Info: 16 man bracket format
4 mats running
3 pound weight allowance
non scorers will be used to fill out brackets
Awards: Top two teams win trophy
top 3 places at each weight wins a medal with champion
getting tshirt.
Entry fee: 300 dollars per team
There will be a concession stand on site
Schedule: weigh ins by team 730-830.
coaches meeting-seeding 845
wrestling begins 930
There will be no breaks except before the finals

Proud to announce that Paul defosse, the man who runs the states and new englands will be running our tournament. This means the tourney will be totally paperless and run through trackwrestling. Two more spots have been taken with the additions of Barrington RI and east Greenwich RI. If interested contact Jim McKenna 5089718547 as soon as possible.

Tournament has a full field of teams with the addition of Franklin high school (ma). Should be a tough and exciting tourney to get the season started.

If any other teams are looking for a tournament on 12-14-13. I have one spot open in milford, nh, for the 22nd annual milford/souhegan wrestling classic. teams from RI, MA, and NH are entered. $200 entry, non-scorers admitted.

I hope everyone had a good first week of practice. only Six days left till 16 teams kick off their season at the Mt.Hope holiday. just a nugget of info for you, every weight class has a state champ, state place or an all new England wrestler in it. Every single one. so it looks like the wrestling should be exciting. look forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks to all the folks at Mt.Hope for a very good day of wrestling. The first tournament of the season was run well, officiated well, and we saw some good wrestling with quite a few exciting and competitive matches. Nicely done!
