Congrats to Bishop Hendricken on winning the state title, and congrats to EWG, and Johnston on they're runner-up status. Also a congrats to all the Champions and place winners. This was a weekend of many surprises, wrestlers letting their guards down, and others raising the bar. What was your biggest shock of the tourny? Mine was DiMauro getting beat by Hidalgo (not to take anything away from Hidalgo). I think everything ran smoothly, not many problems. As for the top 3, heres to another week of hard work, let's represent at New England's. Go Team RI

Dimaru upset was huge shocker. Staying at 132 weight class I thought Cody Brown was impressive seemingly pinning his way to a state title and for a while he wasn't really in the conversation for 132. He really looked dominant. I can't believe, one more week , and its a wrap. I feel RI will do well this year in NEs. Any thoughts on NEs.

Congrats to everyone who Wrestled and Coached this past weekend it was one hell of a showing by Rhode Island in general. Special congrats to the top three Teams Hendriken for first, and Johnston and EWG who tied for second. A lot of great finals matches as well Alterri/Baudette and Howard/Colluci being the best Match. Think D'allosio deff deserved OW. Great Job RI!

That Colici/Howard match was a barn burner. one of the best I've seen in a while. Howards only a sophomore so i'll be looking foward to seeing how he progresses in the future. Schmeider/Ziobro match was a pretty good one too, 2 seniors giving their all for the last time at a State Championship. Looking foward to seeing these kids represent RI at NE's in a big way

Despite all the upsets in the early rounds, it seems we got the finals most fans wanted to see: Altieri and Beaudette, Colicci and Howard, Serge and Aaron Travers, Andrew Labrie and Erik Travers, Schmeider and Ziobro, Caparco and Georges and Zicus. The seeding system actually worked pretty well. There were lots of repeat champs too. Three for Altieri (can go for four!) and Aurelio, one of the state's best heavyweights ever; two for the Labrie's (go for three), Colicci, Schmeider (all the returning Vets repeated!) and Zicus. Also, five previous runners-up took titles (Davol, D'Alosio, Bouyssou, Gallagher and Zeramby ) and two others (Erik Travers and Maccini) took second again this year. This means RI brings a lot of N.E. tourney experience to this year's New England's, particularly previous N.E. place-winners Altieri (twice), Colicci, Eric Travers (twice) and the Labrie's. Hopefully all this experience will result in a good RI showing later this week. Congratulations to everyone who competed this past week, and the best to those who compete next weekend.

Go to trackwrestling.com and search for Rhode Island, then look for state tourney, you can find brackets, team and individual scores and stats there.

www.riilnetwork.com ,<--------- Went to this site looking for Finals. They have the consi finals, and they filmed the kids getting ready on the mat, nothing else??, it's like they forgot to record the actual finals or something.

See now, I didn't record the finals because they said they had a "Professional Crew" there doing it for the internet. All I can say is, "they actually paid these guys"? With a webcam, 1 laptop, and its built in microphone I did this for free. I got into the wrong business...
Wow, now a ref knows what its like to critique someone else at their job...

They were terrible. No clue what was going on. Or who was who. It was a joke. Especially the consi finals.

They just saw a way to make money after joe did a good job last year and capitalized on it. Typical Tom Mezz. Can't say anything bad about them though might get fined.... Hahahahha

I think that's too bad. I never understand why people want to fix stuff that ain't broke. Rulesguy you have done great over the past three-four years recording and commentating matches and putting them up for wrestlers and parents to enjoy. It's too bad you didn't do it, cause even with that "professional crew" IMO they just do the job. You however know these wrestlers as you see them on a nightly basis throughout the season. When you have that situation I feel like the person in your seat takes more care of the product they're making.

Yeah the best part was the commentary. They always new a little info about each kid from watching and refing matches throughout the season to me that was the best part. This crew just plain sucked.

I had to laugh when I saw Collin's and Jay's match. they had score backwards LoL. Rulesguy did a way better job and he always had another person help him commentate that knew what the hell they were talking about, and I loved his intro. who ever commentated this sounded like Peter Griffin from family guy in this episode ----->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz-rLrkiU7o
