the bracket in the "bracket section" is from 2011 "unofficial" and it doesn't accurately depict the bracket setup used in 2102. If you use the 2011 bracket the DI and DII seeding dosen't align. Looked back at 2010 Bracket and that was different also. Doesn't really matter just having fun seeing how brackets will align and some of the match ups but not feeling very confident with current information. Tried following standard bracket protocols for 32-man brackets giving top 10 byes in round 1----would this be top 6 from DI and top 4 from DII?? still would like to have what we could call the "official" bracket for 2013. appreciate anything that can be provided...looking forward to a great state tournament...
Good luck to EVERY wrestler and coach!

@ wiseowl. I'm not sure that 32-man round is right. it says the D2-6 will wrestle the D2-9 in the first round. I don't know if that's just a typo or something but Division 2 only sends the top 8 guys don't they?

I think D2 takes a ninth guy if an independant is one of the top 8

That is the correct bracket that was used last year, The D2-9 is in case of an independant, so if no independant, D2-6 will see the D1-4 in the round of 16. Once RIIL confirms the above bracket, then the tourny director can place the seeds into place. DON'T FORGET, weight classes that are not filled in D1 with top 14, D2 will send extra guys to fill the bracket. There are a few classes that are not full in D1.

Where is Caparco at 138. I think he is 8. And chario 38 is James isn't it? Unless he's injured.

Wiseowl, I am not all too familiar with the seeding and had a question with the 170 weightclass. Clearly Caparco is 1 as I believe he went undefeated in duals but how are the 2,3, 4 etc. figured? During duals Travers lost to Hayes which may be Travers' only loss. Perrotta lost to Travers, Stewert and Perroni. Hayes had 1 loss in duals to Perrotta. It would seem that the two kids with one loss would both be above Perrotta as he lost three. Clearly power points come into play but I am just wondering what else is looked at to come up with these seeds. Also, are these official seeds yet or have those not been determined? Thanks for the info.

I know power points is how they seed. Most power points is 1 so on and so forth. You can jump the wrestler in front of you if you beat him. But you can only jump one wrestler. Some coaches will purposely bump guys so they can be the 4 rather than the 2 or 3. Depending the better matchup for there wrestler.

As far as 170 goes, it started as listed by most power points
1 Carparco 2 Traver 3 Hayes 4 Perotta ect.. We seed from the bottom up, so Perotta beat Hayes, so he climb over him but lost to Traver, so stopped there, and that is your top 4. Hayes had 2 losses on the season as did Traver.
Finalist, you can climb as high up as long as you beat the person above you.

Thanks Wiseowl. I am trying to learn as I go. Hayes lost in 170 once and then wrestled up at 182 and lost. Travers lost twice at 170 so I was trying to figure out how that figured in. I could have picked another weight class and found similar situations. I appreciate all you guys who share your knowledge with us newbies.
