The Mass sectional tournaments have been postponed to next week. That caused there three state tournaments to be move to the following week which then caused their open tournament (which is their new England qualifier) to be moved to the weekend of the New England Tournament. I hear they were trying to get the NE Tournament moved to the following week but the NE Council said the gym is not available.  |

Coach. Is that a definite. On the mass forum it sounds like they are still working on the MIAA to make some changes in there sectional tournament.

Are New Englands gonna be here in RI for a while? I hope so,that place is a great venue,I cant wait....Good luck RI

there is a big push to do the mass states on tue/wed feb 19, 20...but its NOT DEFINITE and MIAA would have to approve it. BUT-- IF that works out then mass will be in, so i dont think its official that mass is out of the new englands yet.
As for future new englands, I agree PAC is a great venue.....but it was a 2 yr deal and i think it will move on...at least for 1 or 2 years...again nothing is definite.

I spoke with a friend who is involved with the NE council. He told me that Mass was asking the NE Council to change the tournament date and the NE council said they could not.
He told me on the Mass chat sites they were trying to organize a petition to give to the NE Council.
I am sure the MIAA would approve the date change, the question is if they could have the 2 day tournament done on Wednesday have 1 day of practice and come back Friday & Saturday for their State Open championship.
I am sure the Tue/wed option came up after the NE council said no to changing the date.
We will see how this plays out.

MASS has shuffled condensed the schedule to try and make it work so their wrestlers can make NEs.. Sectionals this weekend, divisional states on Tues and Wed (during school break) and AllStates next weekend.
