Alright, my fellow referees, what in the world is the call on this? www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/83036875/Postpone the entire dual meet? What if one coach insists they continue? The kid couldn't continue (he needed stitches), so does the opponent get a forfeit because a light fixture crushed the other wrestler and sent him to the hospital? Do you simply turn the regular lights on and continue with the dual? I mean, what do you do here? If it were me, I'd be calling the president of the RIWOA for some advice, lol.

All I can say is wow... But here is the rule I would use... Rule 3.Section 1.Article 2 . . . On matters of judgment, the referee shall have full control of the match and the decisions shall be final, based upon the NFHS wrestling rules and interpretations. The referee has the sole authority for ruling on infractions or irregularities not covered within the NFHS wrestling rules. In my opinion, unless a doctor could clear him, I would not let the match continue. I would declare the weight class NO MATCH, and if possible (clean mat and addiquate lighting) continue the dual meet.

i agree with rules guy on the authority of the referee, however, i might consider the score and time left when deciding to call it a no match or not.
