This was a really good tourney with some top teams from RI, Conn and Mass. North Andover is No. 1 and North Attleboro No. 9 in Mass, while South Windsor is ranked 12th in Conn, so for three RI teams to finish on top is terrific for our state wrestling programs. Some other notable matches: Travers injury defaulted to Hoehn of North Andover, who beat him last month, then Hoehn lost to Sam Odell of South Windsor; Serge wrestled and injury defaulted to the younger Odell of S.W.; and no Alverez appearance for Hope?

Congrats to Johnston. Lots of medical forfeits. Think like 7/8 and that was just a quick scroll through. Biggest looks like 220 finals. Also notable were Bouyssou, dziadkiewi and Colasante amongst others.

Any reports?

Also why did N. Andover not bring at least 3 of their studs. 106 Coughlin (MA #8 ranked), 170 Cincotta (MA #2 ranked), 182 Neals (MA #1 ranked)?

Yes there was a lot of medical forfeits. This was Serge's first time going live for the year after his surgery so I told him on the first sign of any pain we would pull him. No need to push it before states. I felt really bad for Travers as he has the same injury that both Serge and Katelyn had last year and they both needed surgery to get better. After all the hard work him and his family put into this sport its tough to end with injury.

Thats terrible news for travers...Wish him a speedy recovery. I dont know if any team hasnt been bit by the injury bug, but I guess its the nature of the beast. Best of luck to everyone down the stretch and good heath.
