Johnston has been always underrated and not very well respected by many, but facts show that in just about every sport they produce they are always in contention and come tough which is hard to swallow by many, giving up points and all and here we are again in contention with a division title, but Mt Hope will be no easy task,as they also have some great wrestlers and always come ready. It ought to be exciting down the wire but many accomplisments have already been achieved this year no matter the outcome and with the group of kids that are here and young it will be proven over the next 2 yrs.

Johnston is not overrated at all. They are 3 or 4 in team rankings. Not overrated. They do have some young kids but will lose quite of few seniors from there lineup if I'm not mistaken. Didn't they win 4 tournaments they entered this year. Hard to overrate when that gets done. Still well behind BH though IMO. And I don't see them beating Mt hope. They win. 106 , 45, 52, 70, 220. 82 close but Mt gets edge. Maybe 13 but I don't think Johns has one. Any thoughts.

Wrestlingfan101, How has Johnston been under-rated, and disrespected? They were atop the D2's last year, and moving up to D1 everyone knew what they were bringing to the table. They won the South County, Chad, Cumby, so who is calling them under-rated.
Finalist who called them over-rated?

Finalist I said underrated and that was just referring to some earlier posts early on in the season and in all sports in general, not just limited to wrestling. And wiseowl as far as not respected ,I only meant that as far as in the overall rankings and articles read in the past,I am just saying for some of the young teams that they produce and the shallow depth of thier squads they do come tough and ought to be respected for that.In that being said ,Tonites matchup would be one of the Most difficult to predict as I respect both of these teams for thier accomplishments, both have tied Cumberland which to my knowledge is in the Top of thier Division and had not been beaten in 3 yrs.Being a Johnston Fan,I wish the team the best but it will not be easy, especially giving up some points as I understand, and not to underestimate another powerhouse team like MT Hope.Good Luck to all and especially in the upcoming States in the next couple weeks..

Thibeault had a very good win against Thomas last night - he dominated the entire match - the 132 weight class has started to align itself for the state tournament...then the battles begin--very exciting...all of these guys bring every time they enter the circle --- Edge to Thibeault right now

Edruth.... I still think DiMauro has the edge in that weightclass Thiebeault dec DiMauro in dual meet. Not that means a whole lot come states since whole class is wide open to whom ever steps up to wrestle that day, but standings wise, edge Jaxon

I think 220 could be interesting at States. Zicus clearly looks like tops, but couple of the div 2 kids could challenge for 2-3. that BH kid (forgot his name) looks tough too of course.

No one has even came close to George's from LSA this season, IMO he wins state easily.

George's is for sure the favorite. Easy win. I think no. Every year it seem there is one or 2 unbeatable wrestler. And every year there is an upset. I think last year there was one or 2. Cumberland 45 was a big upset last year. And there was another at 113 I think I can't recall.

That's the one. And it was Caparco beating travers I only think there was 2-3 people in the gym saw that coming. So who can you see being a candidate for a big upset. Not a good topic I know.

Has Georges beaten Zicus this year? I meant no disrespect to him or his team. Just saying I think 220 is deeper and maybe more interesting when it all turns out than many expect. There are three or four kids at that weight this year who are not only strong and but good athletes too. If Georges (or anyone) can beat all the athletes in that group easily, hey, more respect to him.

Why would Georges be the favorite over zicus, Zicuis actually won a. State Championship already at this weight (well kind of 215 but its pretty much the same) in 2011. Also placed at 285 last year and is now down a lot of weight.... I think he is definitely the favorite, too bad that match didn't get wrestled at Cumberland.
I think there are some def upset possibilities, that's why we wrestle the tournament after all, right?
