You should contact AtlantaAl on here. I bet he has old brackets. Also maybe coach Griffin from N Attleboro he was on here about a year ago saying he had found some old stuff from when he was in RI.

It so happens when my father cleared out his house this summer I picked up some State Wrestling brackets from the mid to late 70's. I may have more in the attic, but I'll have to get to them later. One good thing is I have the full 1977 brackets, so I'll put them on a Word document in a form that I hope you can cut and paste into your spread sheet. I think what you had originally for 1977 was the results of the State All Star competition. Rich, thanks for doing this massive labor of love for RI wrestling. Al

just thought I'd contribute a few I remember 1995 125lb 1st Place Kyle Byrnes Bristol RI beat Mwangi Gitahi 4-3 South Kingston
Dave Pugh (unsure if 135 or 140 ) of Bristol High placed 2nd in a very close match to Craig Mullaney of Hendrickan
I have a ton of videos(100 +/-) and dozens of brackets if needed and from what I see it is needed. I will update w/contact info or contact a mod

I posted the above but made the mistake saying Byrnes & Pugh were from Bristol High, they were wrestling for Mt Hope High. The last year that either wrestled for the former Bristol High School was their freshman year. Although not sure about Pugh's results I am pretty sure that Kyle Byrnes was a State Champion at 119 lbs
Byrnes also placed second in the 1996 state championships losing to Louie Capadaloupo(sp?) from Hendrickan who passed away sometime last year. Byrnes won the Allstar Tournament in 1995 and 1996 and was undefeated in 1995

Great site and a real treat to have found it. OK found the edit button :-/ another correction: When I posted that I should've made clear that it was 1996 results not 1995. I'll confirm the exact weight and score soon.

. sorry for the mess, tried to clean it up and delete this post but I'm guessing my use of NoScript is preventing me from doing so as it is throwing an error at me about the use of the wrong form. MODS please delete this post if possible thank you

Hey rich, Rusty here....been awhile! This is awesome. Very cool to look back at all those names. Some awesome memories, thanks for all the work you did. Just a few minor things... In 1988, the 189 champ was Aaron Castellano. I am almost positive in 1990 that Brendan Sullivan was the champion at 145. I had just gotten my ass kicked so maybe I'm wrong but I believe he was the first Sullivan to win a title. The next year his brother Ryan was the first to win as a junior. Man, we had some good teams back then....wrestling was the sport to do back then at our school. Not sure what happened Thanks again, Rusty f. ( midd wrestling)
