I wanted to take a moment and wish everyone good luck this weekend! Remember this weekend we are all one team. I am hoping our local wrestling community will come and watch as it is a rare treat that we get to host the New England tournament. It is a great opportunity for our local wrestlers to see the next level of competition.

Congrats to all the place finishers, a great wkend, w/ some solid wrestling, ending w/ an epic hwt finals match. Mass forum recorded the matches and would assume up in a few days. DEF WATCH THE HVY MATCH.
OW - O Boyle Best Finals - 285
Alteri - 3rd Colicci - 6th Vicente - 2nd Murphy - 3rd A Labrie - 3rd C Labrie - 3rd Travers - 6th Jerell - 3rd Hurst - 6th Salois - 4th
I believe that was all, correct me if I'm wrong. RI went in strong into the semis, but had some set backs. Everything seemed to run smooth, minor injuries, nobody was carted away. Congrats again to everyone. Next season starts tomorrow

Saw this... Posted by a CT guy, he was on all last night trying to show CT needs more respect. The fact is VT and ME need to bring less kids or everyone else should bring more. I'd love to bigger brackets it would only increase 2 rounds of wrestling and would give MA and CT a better chance to make a run at team tittle MA - 8 kids CT - 6 NH - 4 RI - 4 VT - 3 ME - 3

im all for more wrestling....but a 32 bracket is 10 more matches per wt class..thats close to 2 hours of more wrestling, where/how do you fit it in?

Do the tournament on Saturday and Sunday...you lose most of the day on Friday with school anyway so move it to Saturday/Sunday and add more competitors!

good idea coltrain5020 !!
they could wrestle to final 8 on saturday and then come back at noon on sun,
also expand the tournament to 8 places so that every kid coming back on sun gets at least 2 matches

Sunday = double time pay, you will never see that. Plus, some schools are to far away to be leaving at 10 pm on a Sunday night. 6-10 hrs for some of the Maine wrestlers who have school, or parents who have work the next day. Plus you still need a snow day I'd think.

Move finals up to 5:00 and most those traveling could get back home Sunday night. Also the facility could open Friday afternoon for "state team" practice, for those coming down Friday afternoon. Other option is roll with 10 mats the first night, the first round and 3rd (first down bellow would be the bigger ones the two extra mats would help cut down the time and the gym certainly has the room to add them.

well if you start early on both days you will be just fine...start at 10 on saturday and 11 on sunday (just in case for church goers) i love the idea for state practice the night before it would help out some of the wrestlers alot i know alot of teams from RI had a couple of kids going unlike Mount Anthony who had their whole team go so the RI kids had a harder time finding suitable practice partners unless they traveled to a club team or another school to work out with them.
