honestly, i am not a fan of it at all. it's too complicated. wrestlers don't know when/where they're up. i just wish they would have stayed with the basics of brackets and calling wrestlers to each of the mats

System is good...less running to and from head table....the problem is that the event is getting to big for coventry to hold. Maybe a separate Freshman and JV tourney should be considered.

Maybe they should have moved that big screen outside in the hallway instead of the in back of the head table, the head guy keeps complaining kids are crowding around the table and mat area, Duh? Kids and coaches are just trying to see bracket numbers, who's on deck or up next.

I think next year it will shrink back down, if they go to 3 divisions more kids will have chance to qualify. Right now in D1 te lower teams send more kids to JVs then normal because the whole team doesn't qualify like in years past. Also it would be beneficial to just move it... LSA can prob hold 6 mats and adequate stands. Wonder if we can pry it out of Coventry's hands without Mr Magarian in full control.

I have seen this system work well, the problems in coventry last night from the promoters side were #1 You could not understand anything they said over the PA # Some serious disorganization
From the system side of things #1 there should have been 2 screens 1 for JV and one for freshmen rather than flipping back and forth on the one screen #2 the screen at the head table is not the rite way to present the brackets, I have beeen at several tournaments where a projector type of hardware was used and it is readable from a long distance. #3 poor communication to the wrestlers, many were told they were not going to wrestle and prepaired to leave only to be rushed to the mat to wrestle. These athelets prepair way too long and hard to be treated like that, it was kind of disrespectfull to them and some matches would have had a different outcome.
It can all be addressed with a good PA system and an announcer that is informed of what is going on, inturn keeping the wrestlers and everyone that came to see them on the same page. That is an easy fix and I hope they do somthing like that today

Its a great system when it's running proper, it's the way of the future, and how you will see tournies ran down the road. As for the confusion of when and where a wrestler goes, I don't think many knew that if they looked at their bout number on the bracket that they could speculate how long they had to wrestle and not look for their name as the bout numbers were on the 2 laptops and big screen. As for the big screen moving, that was pretty much the extent of the cables. The glitches in the clocks and scores was a matter of the internet access. You will never see 2 seperate events as this would double the expenses with the same amount of entry and gate. RIIL loves they're money. I imagine the RIIL gets the school for free, and everything is about rock bottom prices, so good luck w/ a venue change. Also keep in mind of the number of kids entering, over 400 I believe, as well as probably the 1st time the director has ran a double tournament on the same set-up, the kinks and quirks will work themselves out in time.

Big improvment on day 2. Font was bigger on the main screen and the system seemed to run alot better. Bout sheets were correct and over all it ran well.

The second day ran so much better. There were a couple instances where the computerized score board screens froze up on the refs. They had to wait a few minutes to start matchs, but after all the bugs and glitchs were worked out, it was smooth sailing the rest of the day.

System was not working well on Friday, worked well on Saturday. Wiseowl is right, it is the future, but the tournament would have ran smoother on Friday it that glitch was fixed and they did a double elimination rather than just one. Doesn't make sense in a coach's mind, but in a profitable mind I can see why its done.
