Last nights meeting was a huge success. The turn out was much better then we thought . Practice is on for Thursday at 7 pm at vets. If you were unable to attend the meeting you can still come and sign up at practice on Thursday. Five practices till our first events don't miss out. Team Rhody

1000 Islands Summer Duals 2012 Guidelines
Entry Fee: High School Division : $450 (Maximum of 20 wrestlers on roster) Junior High Division : $400 (Maximum of 18 wrestlers on roster)
TEAMS WILL WEIGH IN AS A GROUP ONLY ! AND ONLY AFTER ALL PERMISSION FORMS ARE HANDED IN AT THE FRONT TABLE.
Please print, copy and hand out the PERMISSION/WAIVER FORM click here for print out form Mail to: Pat Conners 25 Roberts St Adams, New York 13605 Wrestlers must have these forms filled out and signed to weigh in and wrestle. No individuals will be allowed to show up and weigh in early before their coach and team arrives. Individual wrestlers may show up later and weigh in after their team has already weighed in, but not before.
Officials for 1000 Islands Duals are N.Y.S. and Massachusetts Certified paid officials
High School Division
H.S. Tournament Format- 40 teams. Every team will wrestle 5 or 6 dual meets (win or lose). All 40 teams will start out in the Gold bracket. The 24 teams that lose in the first 2 rounds will move to the Silver bracket for a separate tournament. The 8 teams that lose in the first round of the silver bracket will move into the White bracket. Second round losers of the Silver bracket will move into the Red bracket. Losers in the Gold round of 16 will move to the Blue bracket.. When everyone has had two bouts we will end up with five 8 team tournaments and teams will wrestle out for team titles in those 5 divisions.
High School Bout Length: Three 1½ minute periods. H.S. Eligibility- Any wrestlers entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2012 that were born on or after Sept. 1, 1993. Wrestlers that are entering 8th grade that competed on the JV and/or varsity level last winter are also eligible. H.S. Weights - All meets will start at 100. 100 107 115 123 130 137 145 154 162 173 185 197 220 285
Junior High
Junior High Tournament Format: 20 Team Championship Bracket. Teams will wrestle 4 or 5 bouts each.
Junior High Eligibility: Any wrestler entering grades 7 - 9 (NOT 6th) the fall of 2012 that were born on or after Sept. 1, 1996. Junior High Bout Length: Three1 minute periods.
Junior High Weights: 75 82 90 98 105 112 119 127 135 145 155 165 *Unl.
(*Unl. Must be within 10% to count UNLESS both coaches agree before the meet and make tournament director aware)

We had our first practice last night. Everyone is signed up for mawa this weekend most wrestlers are also signing up for flonationals. The college kids really bring the practice to a whole new level. Next practice is Thursday 7-830 Just mailed out deposits for spring duals very excited!!!! Go team RI

coach i talked with matt smith up at smittys barn monday he said if you guys would like he would be willing to do a practice at both clubs one in nh one in ri if interested let me know ill be up there monday and are RIC wrestlers working with you i'll send my son just need to know what wrestlers are going he redshirtided after springfield duals but ok now i may send you 2 both from newbedford melo newengland champ 112 09 runner uo at 119 2010, and costa 4th at 119 and nhsca aa in 2011
