Check out the two videos below.
Both are the exact same move and both of them done with significant force. However in my humble opinion (and the opinion of the refs who were working the match), only one is a slam. Watch the videos below and let me know which one you think it is AND WHY.
If you want to make it harder on your opinion, watch the videos with the volume off on the computer.

I would say the bottom video is a slam. Because top wrestlers feet leave the ground and bottom wrestler hits mat before top wrestlers knee hits mat.

I think top is a slam cause top guys weight seems to come down hard on bottom guy. But both should be legal. This is y I prefer wrestling over basketball.

To determine which one is a slam, a number of factors would have to be considered. Both are done with elevation and force, and so could be both slams. Both are college matches (1st - PSU vs. OU, 2nd - Minn. vs. NDSU), and so that doesn't help us considering college rules are slightly different than high school. The difference, in my opinion, is whether a wrestler has been rendered defenseless. Both are the same move - crotch lift with a bear claw brought straight over the bottom wrestler's head. In the first, the offensive wrestler goes light on the crotch lift at the end so that he doesn't drive his opponent straight down. In the second, the offensive wrestler drives him straight down forcibly while his opponent is virtually defenseless. The second is definitely a slam in my opinion, while I'd probably let the first go.
