The Mighty Quahogs wrestling team took part in the Pop&Flo National Duals in Lake Placid NY this weekend and placed fourth in Pool B a big jump from last year where we placed seventh. The wrestling was fantastic and it was great to see our RI counterparts from NE Elite there representing and making their own splach in the tournament. Off season wrestling needs to grow and Coach Rick and I are going to do our best maintain a schedule of Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7pm to 9pm at Gaudet gym for practice. The team was excited with their showing and is looking for additional off-season mat time so we are going to research tournaments that we can attend as a team and as individuals representing The Mighty Quahogs this summer. All we need is athletes who love the sport and want to get better in the off-season---please contact Coach Rick Francias or just get in your car or get a ride and come to practice--we can sort the rest out---

Great tournament, some of the best clubs in New England, NY, NJ, PA attended. Excellent atmosphere, great chance for any wrestler to gain experience.
Great to see Mighty Quahogs there along with us (Northeast Elite RI) we definitely need to see more participation from other clubs and wrestlers in the off season if we want the state to continue to grow with the sport!
