obviously congrats to all the place finishers and champs...but to place 3rd in the state and then 3rd in NE? Thats amazing. Think about this: 3rd in NE and won't be able to say he was a state champ. No parade of champions for him...but he deserves it. I can't believe i'm saying nice things about chariho, i hate chariho. (as a rival and wrestling team not personally)
Now that i think about it, kid from EG won NEs but not states...atleast he can say he was a champ of something (better than states)

you are aware that hayak lost in the state finals to the person (oconnel) he beat in the new england finals correct? ha so still amazing feat

I am aware. I think you may have missed my point. Though hayak wasn't a state champ, he was still a champ...a NE champ. O'connell...just as impressive, a state champ and NE finalist.
Adams can't say either (3rd in state, 3rd in NE) even though he was that caliber of a wrestler. Mr. Hiebner, who wrestled for Midd., was the state runner up and NE runner up...but wasn't a champ. My cousin Seth Pilotte was a state champ for Rogers as a junior and didn't place as a senior... interesting stuff. not.

Travers stop talking on the forum. Don't call shoniel classes u dont know him and he did well and got frustrated so saying everybody did great besides him is an unnecessary shot because he made a lot more noise on a higher level then u did in your four years. (sorry but that just got to me) I never said everyone but him. I agree with you he did have a great career but what he did wasnt right. Win with class, and lose with class. It's high school wrestling, we are not getting paid. Congrats on a good career and once again good job ALL rhode island wrestlers who wrestled this weekend at the New Englands Josh...its not your place in an open forum to say your opinion on a peer of yours weather or not he was or wasn't classless... Unless he did it to you directly than still you need to take care of those things man to man...and on top of it you better have a clean slate too...(those who have no sin throw the first stone)...and in that case i don't believe you do...i remember few times being *ed at you for being unsportsmanlike... The question that was asked didn't need your negative characterization of shoneil... I don't care even IF he was wrong ...its up to his coaches and parents to help direct that, not you!!! There were worse things thats happened over the year that you and i both know that was blatant and absurd that a few kids have done but there's no use in trying to help those idiots on this forum by exposing that kind of stuff...This is what parents and coaches are for!! |

I happen to believe that people are not entitled to an opinion unless they can back it up with some sort of substance that can validate it to some extent... (ie..that guy is a @#@4#%$....) ok now why is he a @$##%?...after he gives his REASON weather or not i agree doesnt matter but at least he gives a reason...)... that your entitled too!!! |

FYI...... if you look at the brackets it says medical forfeit at 125 Like I said I saw both get banged for a pt during the match when they bumped and had words, and then saw Shoneil get banged after the match before they left the mat. By rule 2 unsportmanlikes gets ya tossed, 1 unsportmanlike not during a match gets you tossed. If Smitty changed his call after the fact which I doubt then it's possible, but I didn't see him get hurt either. I don't think Shoneil is classless, just hot headed. Both of them are very respectable young men, they wrestle very aggressive, sometimes flirt or cross the line of over aggressive, but thats why the ref is there. You need to wrestle hard to be a champion, they've worked hard their whole lives, and winning is something they're expecting of themselves to do everytime. Not an excuse for them, just an explanation. Best of luck to them and all graduating sr's |

well sorry i was just speaking in general glad. But i do agree shoneil is a great wrestler and had an amazing career. He should be pround of all his accomplishments. Congrats shoneil and congrats to the rest of the seniors!

Just to clarify, Shoinel left with an injury...it was not for an unsportsmanlike.
Congrads to the RI wrestlers who placed, some very good wrestling this weekend, MA seemed to dominate, however looking at the underclassmen who are coming up and how they performed this weekend, we will be right back in there in the next few yerars.
