GREENSBORO, N.C. -Corey Peltier has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. Peltier, a junior, upset No. 8 Luke Rebertus Saturday in Maryland’s 19-12 dual win over in-state rival Navy.
On Sunday, in the Terps’ conference-opening dual against the No. 23 Virginia Tech Hokies, Peltier topped John Dickson to earn his first ACC dual win on the year.
With a pair of wins on the weekend, the Exeter, R.I., native remains undefeated since the New Year.
Maryland wrestlers have won four of the nine weekly conference awards this season. Sophomore Josh Asper was named ACC Wrestler of the Week on Nov. 16 and senior Mike Letts earned back-to-back honors on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7.
Peltier and the Terps resume conference play on Jan. 29 as they host the North Carolina Tar Heels at 7 p.m. in the Comcast Pavilion.
