I see the Twins Place but not in the Finals. This is how I see 130. 1. Meyers 2 and 3 Nordby or E. Travers 4 J.Travers 5. Labrie 135 1.Cole 2.Geradli ( I think it is going to be a great final) 3.Maccini(his only in State lose was the day of his knee injury) 4. Labrie Maccini has 2 in state losses, one to Thomas of Chariho by dec, and one to Widdifield of Westerly by pin

as far as seeding goes for states ? caparco pinned abatacola @ a dual meet but lost 8-6 @ vets in consi finals , what happens for state seeding.. anyone no? 2 different leagues, win/loss doesn't mean a thing for state seeding for those 2, BUT dual meet has precedent over a tourny win for in league seeding

Talk has been quiet about thomas, I think he is a sleeper that may make it to the finals. Beat travers twice and had a close one with labrie at the futures tournament. Its going to be an interesting 130 this year. Its all about the seeding from meyers down.

Labrie and myers in the finals I'm positive No guarentee they aren't on the same side of the bracket... There is no Division II tournament this year, so no guarentee that he will outseed the other top D-II wrestlers. Nordby and Travers have state Power Power points from last year. Labrie could be the DII-2 seed, which he would get Meyers in the Semis, or he could even end up the DII-3 seed, which puts their match in the quarters.

Seeding for State Tournament
Seeding is done by division (DI is seeded and DII is seeded seperately). When wrestlers compete in Dual Meets they earn "Power Points" for winning matches. They earn 30 points for wins at their seeded weight and 24 points for wins at any other weight. They also get bonus points as they would during a Dual Meet competition (i.e. 4 extra points for a Major Decision, 5 extra points for a Technical Fall, and 6 extra points for a Fall, Forfiet, DQ, Default). Lastly, returning state and New England place finishers start the year off with Power Points depending on what they placed (they also get extra points if they are still at the same weight). Once all the Power Points are accumulated, the wrestlers are arranged in order.
Example 1) Wrestler A - 480 2) Wrestler B - 430 3) Wrestler C - 390 4) Wrestler D - 350 5) Wrestler E - 200 .... Can go up to 16 wrestlers per division
After the wrestlers are origionaly placed, they now consider head to head match ups starting with the lowest ranked wrestler and the wrestler directly above him. For example, if in the above example Wrestler E has defeated Wrestler D this year (if they split two matches, then the Dual Meet takes precedent) then he moves ahead of Wrestler D.
D1: Weight 103 1) Wrestler A - 480 2) Wrestler B - 430 3) Wrestler C - 390 4) Wrestler E - 200 (Moved up with a win over Wrestler D) 5) Wrestler D - 350
Wrestler E keeps moving up until he can no longer do so (either he does not have a victory over the wrestler directly above him or did not wrestle him). Once that is established, he is set in his seed. So, for the example we will say Wrestler E lost to Wrestler C during the Dual, Wrestler E now is the DI-4 seed. The next wrestler who was origionally in line is considered. In this case it is D, but since E is directly above D and we already established E's victory, D becomes the DI-5. This action continues until we reach the very top of the bracket.
The only way to supercede this formula is to be granted a "Special Circumstance". This applies to returning wrestlers who have been injured for the majority of the season. If when they come back they do not have a loss at their seeded weight, they can be put up for vote by the coaches to be seeded either 1 or 2. If the vote does not pass (Coaches do not find them worthy of a top 2 seed), they are seeded as normal with the rest of the weight class.
Both Divisions are seeded this way and then they are placed into a set bracket, which essentially is two 16 man brackets flipped opposite each other and inserted.
Hope this helps!
