Lmao if we sent our top 7 no one is placing hats the difference This doesn’t even make sense. Mass and CT had more placers cause they brought more wrestlers. RI is small that is why only top 3 are brought. It’s basic common sense if we had the numbers that they have we would have more placers also. Again if you do not think RI has some good wrestlers in comparison to the total number of wrestlers than follow Mass and CT wrestling and stop talking down to the RI wrestlers.

Wizery being you are a coach in the state of R.I. I am surprised by your stance on this. We have some kids now that are capable of winning on the national level. We have a strong group of middle school kids coming up in the next couple of years too. Our top 7 kids are pretty good wrestlers and would hold their own anyplace we take them. Lmao if we sent our top 7 no one is placing hats the difference

Lmao if we sent our top 7 no one is placing hats the difference And why is that? MA has what 164 or so schools with wrestling? CT has what, 111 or so? Obviously when you have a larger pool to pull from your going to produce more talent overall. But if you want to break it down by the numbers RI and NH did very well per number of entrants with CT leading the way. State MA CT RI NH VT ME Entrants 98 70 42 42 42 42 Medals 24 25 12 12 4 7 % of over-all medals 28% 29% 14% 14% 5% 8% % of entrants placing 24% 35% 28% 28% 9% 16% Finalists 7 11 5 4 0 1 Champions 5 6 2 1 0 0 % of entrants in finals. 7% 15% 12% 9% 0% 2%

That’s cute is that compared to mass having 22 medals and 5 champs or ct with 25 medals and 4 champs given the size of Rhode Island we did very well not to mention two of Rhode Island schools made top 3 , yes Lil ole Rhode Island did very well . Massachusetts and Ct are way bigger in population compared to R.I. .

RI is good for its size and I love RI but we don’t compare to other states is what I’m saying we should pretend we do definitely not nationally

Lmao if we sent our top 7 no one is placing hats the difference not to mention Mason Clarke beat a division 1 committed wrestler Jack darling , who happens to be nationally ranked . Let that sink in for a bit , next year I bet Mason Clarke, Joziah fry , and Andrew Fallon will be going to a Division 1 school . We also have quite a few seniors this year already committed to college for wrestling . I think the kids are doing well .

If you go by population of the state as a metric of bodies to draw from,Rhode Island leads all of New England in entrants, medals, finalists, and champions, so statistically saying we put out better wrestlers per capita than any state in New England.

Mass has a population almost 7x RI, and CT is over 3-1/2x. It's not surprising that they have put out a few better wrestlers.

That’s not what I’m saying I’m just saying we shouldn’t compare ourselves we have to use population excuses let RI be great without comparing

I hope all of our guys all-American but has ri ever had a d1 all-American ? Because mass and ct have i know kids that choose their college based on education needs as well , I personally don’t know if any D1 all Americans , but definitely know plenty D3 all Americans , D1 is expensive to go to , but I do know we have a Rhode Island kid at Drexel who is currently ranked 14 in the country, their nationals is in a few weeks , he beat the number 4 raked wresler this year and has a very good shot at placing all Americans this year .

Walking onto a D1 team and being recruited by a D1 team are two different things. Fry's a great wrestler but without a growth spurt D1 teams wont be interested in him. Don't get me wrong I have a great deal of respect for this year's New England champ. But Division 1 wrestling is no joke. Clarke and Fallon are two different stories.

Slowly but surely throughout the years the state has been getting better and better. I see lots of D1 talent coming out of RI within years. RIs wrestling sophomore class is ridiculous the freshman class is promising and the juniors already showing their potential for example fry Clarke Fallon and many more. You can point out flaws like frys size but if that’s all yo Igor keeping him from D1 he has the rest he the drive skill and that “it” factor not many guys can jump up a weight class and even still win NEs. Mind me he lost to Adrian 3-2 but that’s a match that can go either way. Clarke avenged his OT loss to darling I would’ve loved to see him bring it to McGonagle. Fallon before his injury all American not even 100% and winning NEs. Think and say what you want but RI wrestling is rising and will only get better. Lots of studs coming within the next two years!

Even though next 2 years will be good for RI, the freshman class was seriously lacking compared to past years. 0 finalists and only one kid went to New England’s. The eighth graders coming up that will be freshman next year also are lacking great talent.
