No team can beat BH in a dual but what about tournaments? What about the state tournament?

I like Cumberland's chances in a dual against anyone including BH. Last year Cumberland's three closest matches were with Cranston West, Vets and BH and I look forward to those again, without looking past all the others on the schedule, including Westerly tonite. Mt. Hope and North Providence both wrestled tough against Cumberland-- with Mt. Hope winning half the matches but losing on pins.

Johnston high school has a strong lineup and then when you add alvarez it will only get stronger.

Middletown High would be doing alot better in the dual meet category if they had the numbers on their team...tough to win with 6-7 varsity wrestlers but still manage 30 pts in dual meets at times...pretty impressive!

I'm calling Vets in the states. Five #1 ranked wrestlers can rack up quite a few points. If they wrestle at there potential, of coarse.

Some interesting distinctions between dual meet and tournament strength this year. I think I'd still pick Cumberland No. 1 in both categories: several outstanding individuals as usual and good balance, though seemingly not to the extent of the past two seasons. At states they'll have almost as many finalists as Vets, but other placers and guys who can at least score points in the tourney. I'll take Hendricken second in duals, and maybe even with Vets for states. BH doesn't seem to have any weak spots, which is a impressive when you consider they lost Alvarez, as well as two-year starter Weeden. Yet they don't have a single wrestler who is a lock to make the state finals. They do have 8 or more who could place, and every one of their guys could score points at states. EP seems better balanced than last year. Johnston will be impressive when Alvarez starts, but NP seems pretty comparable at states with more overall experience in their line-up. If I start to discuss the next 5-10 ranking I'll probably miss a worthy team.
