What teams are in D-3? I see D1-A, D1-B, D2-A and D2-B on the RIIL site. Thanks

Unfortunately Perez is out. I think he would have made some noise at the state meet. Next year he will be a force to be reckoned with. I am really looking forward to the state meet this year and I am so happy for all our wrestlers that they are able to compete this year! Congrats to all the winners but are we going to overlook some of the wrestlers we counted out? Brian Garcia, unranked on these boards from Westerly, RAN TO THE FINALS, he was stopped by Hood however he put on a show! Any other lower ranked or unranked wrestlers who placed higher than we thought please discuss with me

I thought the consolations at 170 were interesting, with Dante Silva of BH placing third over Logan Reiner of SK. Neither had been ranked all season yet had to beat ranked wrestlers in the consis: most notably Silva over McLain and Alarie and Reiner (a sophomore) over Thatcher.

Oh yes though, Garcia making the finals at 126 may have been the feat of the tournament, coming out of a class with a lot of experienced and ranked wrestlers.

I personally predicted Garcia would make the finals of 126 after watching him wrestle Gabriel in an exhibition match at 132 this year. Tough kid! A lot of D2 wrestlers wrestled their asses off! And Michael Jarrell spending one off season training nonstop with his brothers and he makes a state final and wrestled a great match. Also I’m really excited to watch Isael Perez actually wrestle next year.
Jordan Golato a second year wrestler placing 4th! Without tournaments this year it was hard to gauge the D2 talent pool but definitely a lot of wrestlers to look out for next year

I counted around a total of 18 D2 placers, most of them were unranked! Besides previously mentioned Brian Garcia, I thought Eneas Castillo, 138 from Cranston East looked great! Went 0-2 last year and then placed this year! Also, Devin Medeiros at 145 lost in quarters and battled back to the 3rd and 4th place match although he ended up losing to Maroney again! Great day for D2
