I think it will be closer than I might have been thought earlier, but I still expect BH to win by 10 points or more. It's funny how it seemed like it would come down to this match from the beginning of the season, both teams undefeated in RI until the end. My clue came at the very beginning of the season when Hendricken beat Mt. Hope and Cumberland beat Johnston, each by more than 40 points! Wow, they were that much better than two of the best teams in the state, and they've continued that way throughout the season. Should be great!

It is definitely going to be the best match of the season. They are the top two teams in the state, and are going to be 1 and 2 at the state tournament. It's going to be a packed house at Cumberland. Good luck too both teams, at this point, any team can win. .

I believe this is Hendrickens yr,I personally do not think Cumberland has a shot to win this,I watched Hendricken last week and they seem to be a powerhouse but stranger things have happened,it will be fun and the Best team will prevail, that is of course if the higher ups dont get scared of an inch or 2 of snow...It is great when it comes down to a Match like this to determine 1st or 2nd...

Projo has it 49-12 Hendricken, but no individual bout results. Have to wait for RIIL.org.

FALL Travers, Harold (Cumb) 120 Davol, Jason (B.H.) DECISION Beaudette, Cody (Cumb) 126 Swanson, James (B.H.) FALL Tougas, Noah (Cumb) 132 Nordby, Kristopher (Cumb) DECISION Jacobsen, Matthew (B.H.) 138 Durkin, Kyle (Cumb) DECISION Arruda, John (B.H.) 145 DiMauro, Anthony (B.H.) Anyone who was there know individual scores? I would love to know actual scores of the Davol-Beaudette, Sauro-Hayes and Gorgio-Martino matches.

Are there any rules when a guy clearly fakes an injury from the bottom because he is clearly out of shape, comes back with tape on the ankle and is throwing up after the match. Are there rules for this type of fraud?(not sure)

OK, OK, Projo corrected the score to 48-12 and listed the bout scores:
Story In a battle of unbeaten teams, Bishop Hendricken came out on top over Cumberland, 48-12, and the Hawks clinched the Division I North title with an undefeated record. John and Nick Celico got the Hawks off to strong start against the Clippers with pins at the 106 and 113 weight classes.
Results 106 - John Celico, Hend.,won by fall over Kameron Porcaro, Cumb.,, 5:41. 113 - Nick Celico, Hend.,won by fall over Harry Travers, Cumb.,, :25. 120 - Jason Davol, Hend.,won by default over Cody Beaudette, Cumb., 11-4. 126 - Jamie Swanson, Hend.,won by fall over Noah Tougas, Cumb.,, 5:52. 132 - Kris Nordby, Cumb.,won by default over Matt Jacobsen, Hend., 10-3. 138 - Kyle Durkin, Cumb.,won by default over John Arruda, Hend., 3-0. 145 - Anthony DiMauro, Hend.,won by default over Stephen Masi, Cumb., 7-0. 152 - Nick Tribelli, Cumb.,won by default over Steve Johnson, Hend., 11-9. 160 - Louie Stewart, Hend.,won by fall over Nate Skawinski, Cumb.,, :58. 170 - James Sauro, Hend.,won by default over Christopher Hayes, Cumb., 3-1. 182 - Hunter Boesch, Hend.,won by fall over Dylan Faria, Cumb.,, 1:47. 195 - Nick Giorgio, Cumb.,won by default over Nick Martino, Hend., 5-4. 220 - Pierre Arcand, Hend.,won by default over Dylan Herrera, Cumb., 1-0. 285 - Dallas Sauer, Hend.,won by fall over Matthew Reilly, Cumb.,, 1:54.
I would think the Davol score is a bit of a surprise, maybe not so much Sauro. BTW with this win Sauro has beaten 3 of the top 5 wrestlers at 170 lbs. in the New England rankings this season.

Are there any rules when a guy clearly fakes an injury from the bottom because he is clearly out of shape, comes back with tape on the ankle and is throwing up after the match. Are there rules for this type of fraud?(not sure) Sadly no. It became so bad in college that college has instituted the following rules: 1st Inj. TO is a stall call and the opponent has choice of position, 2nd Inj. TO is a second stall call resulting in a point. Although high school should, they haven't progressed that far with their rules yet. In high school: 1st Inj. TO is free, 2nd results in choice of position for the opponent. While it may be apparent at times that a wrestler is milking it to get a rest, there is nothing a referee can do but call the injury time-out. Should a ref not call the time-out, he would be held liable for any injury that occurs to that wrestler. A pickle none of us want to get into.

Congrats to Hendricken on an impressive performance-- I am a Cumberland fan with an appreciation for the wrestling that went on last night---as good as Davol wrestled against Beaudette, I think it's a bit over the top Wrestle4Life to say he "wiped the mat" with him.. The lopsided score certainly makes it look like he did however, Beaudette was doing fairly well early on.. and I would still not count him out in the states--- anyway- congratulations Davol and to Sauro who looked impressive against Hayes---not many people have beaten Hayes this year and I would not rule Hayes out in the states either--- And to Wrestler83---- who thinks one of the Cumberland wrestlers who won was out of shape and faking an injury----think to yourself---- you look stupid making assumptions if you don't know the whole story..... just sayin' ------ Good job to all the wrestlers on both teams--- it's not often Cumberland loses a dual meet in Rhode Island--- Cumberland has learned humility wrestling top ranked out of state competition--- so while this was no doubt painful---Cumberland wrestling fans have lots to be proud of and look forward to the upcoming states and the strong competition the Clippers will be facing.
